Thanks for watching. This mower was fairly abused but most people wouldn't think so. After putting some fuel into the tank there was a very steady fuel leak from the carburetor and air filter area. Unfortunately leaving fuel in the mower for a long time results in more problems later on.

Well done video. For those of us who know how to do it, it’s a piece of cake. For someone, looking for help, perfect. If the primer base gasket won’t seal, put a narrow strip of packing tape over the air channel on the primer base. That’ll seal it. Yes I’d would have changed the oil. Nice job.

The main jet hole was smaller the the OEM so I simply swapped in the OEM main and it was perfect. I have used about a dozen of these. Have 2 on my shelf now. If the old carburetor is clean I will swap the needle and seat but if looks bad like this one I just replace it. Good vid.

i usually change the oil when you can actually see it on the dip stick (dirty) or loses viscosity.. pretty good at keeping shit out of the intake for my personal mowers so i dont really change the oil in them besides the one burning alittle bit on start up.. the mowers i sell usually come in, in shit condition ie. cant see anything on the dipstick or over filled ( apparently people think they need to dump a quart in before selling one to make it appear like it was maintained) then i just change it..... the turn over/pour method an old glass cup funnel and 2 gallon jugs one filled with fresh oil has the whole change lasting less than 5 min without a mess and no need for help.

Home garage, yes I would have changed the oil. Regardless. Oil is cheap insurance. New mowers are not. I have also noticed the fresh bottled oil (briggs and Stratton brand) is 18 ounces.
