Thank you for showing Yuanwu some love, I got him fully build and leveled everything at 70. Currently sits at 3.2K defense. He opens up a lot at that level and I suggest that if you got him at s3 (preferably s6) or you just like his character you start to build him at that level. He will auto place the totem on his burst, and his E starts hitting pretty hard on-hit. Currently dealing about 1.5k dmg and that damage hits the enemies a lot with PERMANENT uptime! He is not dependant on his ultimate like mortefi is and you always have his totem. Which also gets a huge upgrade in range at 70). His rotation is also VERY fast and feels so good to use; - intro / slam E / hold E (forte explodes his totem for dmg) / slam down another E / ult. This combination of moves takes about 4 seconds. Honestly, this guy is just a lot of fun!

Imagine if he wasn’t nerfed from beta and S3 was still +60% DEF multiplier for coordinates attacks

Thanks for this guide. Finally someone who actually knows what he's talking about in regards to Yuanwu. I've seen people writing guides and rating him F tier when it's clear they have zero idea what they're talking about.

One thing you should have mentioned is that his totem being up when he ults explodes for more damage as well. So The dmg goes beyond the estimated 700% as the totem explosion does an additional 59.65% DEF on top. The S5 not being important I disagree since it gives 50% dmg bonus on the ult. As there is a possibility for 44111 to compete with 43311 in a fully upgraded s6 build for certain teams with specific rotations. Or even dropping one of the 30% elemental dmg in 43311 for Energy Recharge% could be really fun. Unlocking s6 that allows Yuanwu to increase def% for allies makes him able to be a buffer for defense scaling characters. Which means when more Def scaling characters release his value will also increase. Also def% substats max is higher than atk% and hp% so this means he will get more value from substats than most characters. There is a lot we can't test until we can get proper echoes and max level sadly. As there will be multiple ways to use and play characters I can see some characters being used in much different ways. Like how some echoes do less damage but give a certain utility in how they move or enabling a special parry to dmg the enemy vibration bar and allow for more dps windows. There is only so much we can go off numbers and theorize until we can properly test them. Def and HP scaling character are late bloomers. I think Taoqi will also jump up in the tier list as the game goes on.

The most important part about Yuanwu? S6: "All team members nearby within the range of Resonance Skill Thunder Wedge will gain a 32% DEF increase, lasting 3s." That's a 12 second defense% boost (not as good as deepen). S6 Yuanwu will be good with a defense scaling main DPS in the future even if you ignore everything else he does pre S6.

finally a video breakdown on Yuanwu, he and Taoqi being low on tier lists reminds me early Genshin when everyone thought Bennet was the worst character, not saying they're broken or anything but both seem pretty good at their roles

Finally! Some Yuanwu breakdown. I s6 this dude while pulling for yinlin and reading his sequences made me realize he will be valuable in late game team comp. That 3 sec cd totem is really helpful since he can easily switch in and out of the field even when the mobs/bosses are moving too much within the totem range.

Since I'm running my Yinlin as main DPS, he became my sub-dps, it just feels so good to see Yinlin's forte and his resonance skill go off simultaneously

The thing i like about this company and their game is the fact that they design and build their characters so well that u dont have to build a team with X Y Z becase otherwise u`re doing it wrong. No. Literally every character in this game can solo the entire content this game has to offer. I did that solo character thing even with Alto or Taoqi (Another def% character that will destroy this game`s content at lvl 90) on most hologram bosses and such and belive it or not they all do amazing job. Using sub-dps character and/or a support character does nothing but to make the things easier and faster. Thank you for this video mr. Aznvasions.

Can't wait for him and Taoqi to catch up to others as support/dps at later stages. As of now, they're catching all the def% echoes that won't be used by the current dps characters like havoc rover or calcharo

I got him to s5 trying to get Yinlin. Then s6 because of ToA.😂 I love Calcharo but Yuanwu just feels more comfortable to play.

If he had better energy regen I would build him to just spam break but it seems like his best scalable niche spot is locked behind R4 when he gets shields for the team.

Yuanwu is the classic Tank role in their other game PGR where they shred/reduce enemy def/shield more than the attacker/dps or the support/amplifier. I think he'll be getting a place at least on niche cases like boss fights where the vulnerable phase of bosses are very short. Great vid as always!

I got him to S6 while pulling for Yinlin, building him at the moment and just need the echoes lvl up and stats right, its fun to play him compare to others imo. Hes now my main and doing solo boss fight with him

would love to see how to effectively build and use him in future. got him to s6 recently when pulling for yinlin but i cant really fit him into my team (calcharo/yinlin/verina & rover/chixia/baizhi) as of now. i am however thinking of making a some sort of cracked team, yuanwu/taoqi/jianxin. they all can generate shields, making the sort of awkward healing from jianxin not so much awkward. and from what i can see their outros seem to synergize well. might not be the best team but it does sounds like a lot of fun

Really nice video! I was thinking something and would love your opinion on it. i'm pretty much considering going the PGR route and just going all dps with my electro team (Calcharo-Yinlin-Yuanwu). im gonna be honest playing supports here at least in the current game's state feels a bit underwhelming I dont see them changing my main dps damage that much (the atk buff from moonlight seems really wack) so I was thinking why not just go all on DPS and, And Yuanwu can just bring a shield to the table from time to time to help out. My Yinlin is also with the electro set because I think it will be a waste not to she can really be a big part of your dmg in a team on and off field. And in my case, im getting Calcharo the 5 star weapon from the level 45 chest so im gonna have a ton of ATK already, I dont know how it works in this game but it feels like ima have so much atk ill hit diminishing returns, And even if not having 3 characters doing dps and cracking boss toughness bar then beating the hell out of them just seems better for me. As a matter of fact, Please anyone who wants to chime in and give me their take I would love that :)

So far Taoqi's my only level 69 character. The damage spike was very noticeable.

What I really wanna know is how big his shields can go, if it's even viable for a support without needing heals and how his E reacts as to other electro. Building mono teams is what I want in wuwa and having yinlin and calcharro with yuanwu looks more neat, than using verina when everyone uses her. Game is still new and cant go investing resrouces on alot of characters yet so havent tested but with this video it gives atleast a rough idea how it should work.

Can we get a review for Aalto too? I think he's underrated tbh

I was just looking at his kit, and thinking that the increase in stagger bar damage might be on par or better than using Verina with her outro skill build speed. I was also eying the base def and thinking that he prolly scales up well at about 70, and only getting better higher up.

Any defence scalers will be lacking in damage compared to attack scalers untill we get a defence buffer, and judging by the new units coming out in 1.1 and possibly 1.2 it will take a long time. I like the thought of having someone that makes breaking the enemy faster so you can whale at them a bit more, but Yuanwu is lacking in damage, so he is overall a damage loss currently. I have him build and he is underperforming at the current state of the game.

Oh man I've always wanted Yuanwu to work but his weird scaling caused me to opt for other sub dps. Thankfully good news is here.

I never really expect Yuanwu to be able to match other on field DPS easily since hes Def scaling and has the coordinated attacks with her Thunder Wedge and his Liberation grants SuperArmor to the party Also a bit of a Vibration breaker specialist But his late bloomer stats is fitting since his Sequences also gets rwally good Got him at S3 for now

He serves as a strong vibration breaker but to be labeled as a dps is a stretch. Even assuming doubling the statistics on his skills due to def->atk conversion, his main source of dps, being 5 basics in forte still pales in comparison to notably strong 4 stars currently. And comparing his coordinating attacks to mortefi and saying its cracked is misleading, as mortefi's coordinating arks hit in .35s intervals, and csn hit twice vis heavy attacks, not to mention his I2 makes each hit stack in dmg, up to 75x. He would also still benefit from flat def stats from echos, and he will def benefit from flat def from weapons when such weapon gets released in the future, which will happen in most likelihood.

Finally bc I’m seeing him in f when he just did 100k in tower so I’m just 🧍‍♂️

So def scaling units in this game has lot potential unlike genshin. Waiting for 5* def scaling unit with gunatlet

Theory crafters are just that; focused only on theory. What we really need to focus on is practicality. Characters like Jianxin and Chixia are going up the tierlist because even though they don't do the most dmg, they are doing consistent reliable dmg because of how thier kit works. And soon Yuanwu will rise up, further down the line, as we value what his kit provide more.

The problem with Yuanwu is that he is NOT comfortable to play at all, his heavy button mashing playstyle is very taxing on my hands. Try playing him with a mouse for a couple hours and you'll know what I mean.
