Dance is not just about doing something so difficult that few can do it. I love So You Think You Can Dance, but sometimes I see dancers making it on the show that seem to be all about the stunts, putting your leg up in an unnaturally stretched position, etc. Fortunately, it is the emotion that ultimately carries a dancer forward throughout the show. This dancing was breaking out of structure and expressing joy. It makes me want to join in. Thinking "I can do that" is part of the charm. Just wait a few years, let alone decades and watch some of the dancing that's in today and see how it holds up!

Isadora was way ahead of her time. A big inspiration to stand in your power and be yourself unabashedly. And as far as dancing goes, I love to dance even more so after reading her autobiography...one can dance to virtually Any kind of music or sound...and it doesn't matter what it looks like, only what it feels like. Thank you Isadora Duncan.❤🦋

Oh Nancy, I so agree with you. So often when I watch such dance competition, I think I hardly see any dance at all. It seems to be more about amazing acrobatics, but isn't dance to me. There are dazzling stunts, but no dance emotion.

Came to learn more about Isadora as a dance student because my instructor saw me rehearsing my piece and said it felt like Isadora Duncan was in the room. I feel so good that my movement could take on this energy, what a beautiful dancer

Ella fue bailarina de ballet clásico y decidió salir del terio tipo clásico y decidió expresar un danza que exprese con el cuerpo los movimientos sea un sentimiento sin ella hoy en día no existiera la danza contemporánea por cierto la gran Martha Graham fue alumna de Isadora Duncan y allí comienza el mundo de la danza libre hoy en día danza contemporánea gracias Isadora Duncan por existir gracias por dejar tu técnica 🙏 gracias naciste para ser la creadora de la danza contemporánea eres la pionera

Shaazam says the music here is Heyat Davam Edir by Huseyn Abdullayev .... this is similar but not quite. Does anybody have more information? I turned up blanks after a 20m search

maybe I am salty but I took dance appreciation to help me better understand some of aspects of dance (as well as the credits). Let me tell you, I don't understand ballet any better than I did before. I appreciate what is stated that Isadora Duncan brought to dance but thank god it has even evolved from this. I'm definitely not a ballet person. I'm watching it now because I have to discuss aspects of modern dance, how it has changed/influenced other dance and so on. 10pm after a long day isn't the best time to watch and try to observe this. Kudos to those that do understand and love this form of dance. I'll just have to keep watching the various positions with what very little Ive gotten about it in class.

Танцы Айседоры не имели отношения к классическому балету,перед которым она преклонялась.Это попытка возрождения древнегреческих танцев.Т.н.свободный танец: импровизация под музыку,танцуешь,как хочешь,цель -передать эмоции и музыку.Это своего рода противоположность балету во всем.И да,Плисецкая считала ее великой.Как и большинство хореографов.К сожалению,записей,если не считать пары примерно по 3сек.нет.Цель прямо держать спину никогда не ставилась.

Lol. I felt like I did better as a kid hanging upside down in a swivel spinning chair pretending I was a dancer or ice skater spinning circles! (I was under 8- cut me some slack.)

Вот что это за танец?Танец сумасшедшего.Убедила себя,а потом через танец и других,что это красиво.А,что может быть красивым,локти провисают,как хочу так и пляшу.Это было что то новое и поэтому людей некоторых это заинтересовало,смаздивая мордашка и неординарность,вот и все искусство.Мне например ее искусство не нравится.Она,как то самовыражается,но это она для себя,а мне то это зачем?????

Солнце, этот стиль танец американских индейцев, некая расслабленность в членах. Если повезёт, то увидите а американский балет на основе танца американских индейцев. В этом есть что-то космическое и первобытное. И это очень красиво. Это и есть школа Айседоры Дункан.

She must have been the biggest scam artist ever, and her privilege shows so badly. She was an awful dancer and an even worse choreographer. It looks really bad, cringe and amateurish at best. Obviously people back then didn't really know any better and also they wanted to support their own, nepotism at its best, she was lucky she had good networking, because talent isn't there at all.

So many pretentious people on here saying how good she was, she was not a good dancer, jumping around and throwing your arms up in the air, is not dancing, she looks clumsy and awkward, the fact that so many people thought she was good is laughable, too lazy to finish ballet school, she was very clever at fooling the public that she could dance, have to admire her for that

Looks amateurish. I think Duncan was more of an interesting person than a dancer and her fame lies in that as much as anything.

it was different than the overly mannered dances they had before her (incl. ballet). She proposed a form of dance which seemed natural and genuine, not stuck up. Obviously, whether one likes it or not is a subjective thing.
