If David changed the name to Jerusalem then why did they call Melkizedek the king of Salem meaning Jerusalem?

Melkizadek is Jesus Christ the King of Righteousness. Hebrews 7:3 7:1-10 Hebrews 6:20

Salem means "peace" Jerusalem is the City of Peace and Melchizedek was King of Peace. And yes, to the person above me, He WAS Christ. In Hebrews 7 you can read more about Him. "For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, ....Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually." This is why when the scribes and pharisees talked about Abraham and Christ said that He had met Abraham and that Abraham had given tribute to Him. Hope this wasn't tmi lol.

Melchizedek is an old Canaanite name meaning “My King Is [the god] Sedek” or “My King Is Righteousness” (the meaning of the similar Hebrew cognate). Salem, of which he is said to be king, is very probably Jerusalem (?)
