That wasn’t actually a Hail Mary, in my opinion. His QB made a really great throw to him, and he made a great catch, on that play. I’m not saying there wasn’t any praying going on before the play, but, to me, a Hail Mary is more about luck, or what you might call “divine intervention.” On 4th and 31, Jalen saw Bond cut back outside, and put it where it needed to be for him to make the play. On a Hail Mary, the QB pretty much just chunks the ball up in the air, towards the end zone, says a prayer, and hopes one of his guys comes down with it. That’s what I’ve always thought of as a Hail Mary, anyway. 4th and 31 was a little different than that, to me.
