Isaiah Bradley introduces one of the darkest chapters of MCU history, in which the US government and HYDRA conducted inhumane supersoldier experiments on Bradley and other black test subjects in attempt to replicate the success of the Captain America program. But throughout his imprisonment, at least one longtime figure we've known in the MCU must have known about this. Knowing Fury, he probably actually did. But it would have to be in between the years of 1996 and the late 2000s as Fury would start the Avengers Initiative in those years.

Doubtful, korean War was 50-54, he was dexlared dead in the 80's. Fury in the 90's wasn't a high lvl Shield Agent till after Captain Marvel. And Hydra was hidden from him till Captain America 2 ...

Since he said HYDRA also did something to him, I wouldn’t be surprised if SHIELD were by extension partially involved, obviously without the knowledge of Howard Stark and Peggy Carter.

@@wynnyx7071 yeah, um, thats not how that works. we have literal MCU FOOTAGE of Fury ‘not knowing’ about Bucky. so there is no ‘with that logic’, my comment didnt come from opinion its a literal fact. from that fact we understand the dark parts of the super soldier program was on a need to know basis, Fury wasnt on that list.

Wouldn’t the Isaiah Bradley info have been included in what Black Widow dumped on to the internet at the end of Winter Soldier? If Zemo was able to find info about Bucky that way then someone could have dug through that and found info about Isaiah.

Bucky would not have known what happened to Isaiah afterwards while he was still with Hydra. He was literally just a weapon for them.

I'm thinking Ross knows everything, Peggy was kept completely in the dark, Howard Stark knew about the initial experiments but not about Isaiah's imprisonment and further experiments on him. Same with Fury. He'd have seen the files on the black supersoldiers but nothing on Bradley's later suffering 😢

Maybe Howard found out and was murdered shortly after cause Zola mentions Howard was finding out about stuff that Hydra infiltrated Shield didn't want him and Peggy to know so it why he assassinated and it made to look like an accident.

Even though Isaiah was a US asset...I think the highest heads in Hydra knew about him and the torture/research aspect. Fury didn't know Pierce was a psychopath, he could have been kept in the dark about that. He could have only tracked him down trying to make amends with his family and found him alive and just kept it to himself

@@RoxDZoro to be honest I think the issue is that they ret-conned Nick Fury to be Black in the MCU when he was white in the comics. But at the same time, they left the Isaiah Bradley story like the comics in a world where the white Nick Fury was. Just IMO.

For six years since 1989, he had been working a desk job in a S.H.I.E.L.D. office, attempting to locate and hunt down future enemies. So he wouldn't have been in a position to need to know about such a deeply classified project

Since Bucky knew where Isaiah Bradley lived, I would imagine that he's known where he was for a long time, and by extension, so has Hydra and probably Shield.

Aged Isaiah knew Bucky, but he's more like Carly and the flag smashers with the serum, just super strong? Bucky was taken from a near death state (falling from the freight train,) and evil dudes (Nazis) transformed him anyway. So...just wondering what Isaiah's mission was supposed to be, and how come he's aged now, and Bucky has not?

It’s due to Bucky being cryogenically frozen in between missions that the aging process was slowed down to the point of him not aging. As to why Isaiah shows signs of aging I think the serum only slows down the aging process not totally stopping it. It could be a side effect that was in the original serum that was also successfully replicated in the imperfect serum that Isaiah was given alongside the super strength. Of course this is just my idea but I think it explains why Isaiah looks older than Bucky. I think since Bucky is no longer cryogenically frozen he’ll age at a slower rate than most people due to the serum. Once again this is just speculation.

The White Wolf and the War Dogs of Wakanda should be where the Dora Milaje recall Bucky to repay his debt for breaking Zemo out of prison and do secret missions, then towards the end of the series, Ayo presents him with a white Vibranium arm with black joints.

Isaiah said he took off half of Bucky's arm. Like... RIPPED it off. I'm guessing Isaiah might have a more refined version of the serum because Steve was never really able to make a dent, even when he was fighting for his life and had all his strength behind it.

Bucky didn't have a vibranium arm back when Isaiah fought him , he had a stolen vibranium arm when he showed up in Captain America and the winter soldier

Who developed the serum that was stolen from Howard Stark by Bucky in Civil War? Howard Stark has been around since WWII, so I think Howard Stark amongst all these people they're discussing is the most likely to know who gave Isaiah the serum.

You do realize that this fictional story is just a means of exploring the Tuskegee experiments on African American soldiers? Start by asking *who knew* in a real world American context. And then we can have a real discussion.

They were not explicitly soldiers, just black men. The most recent news I know of that were explicitly black soldiers were chemical gas testing on living black (and japanese, and hispanic) soldiers in WWII. Unlike the Tuskegee experiment, the soldiers knew what was being done to them, but were left with no choice on the matter. To your main point though, you are right on the money. This story is inspired by true events, so to fill in the fictional gaps, we should look to the historical context for answers.

Not going to lie I kind of assumed buck would accept that he is the winter soldier and just turn the symbol into something good , I would have loved seeing him accept it and how powerful it would be that the winter soldier is someone people would clap for and want autographs for and stuff

The Winter Soldier name was partly influenced by Thomas Paine's writing and has a positive meaning.

@@kmaher1424 oh really? I just meant in the public’s eye because they currently see the winter soldier as a hydra assassin who killed tony starks dad is all. It would bring a tear to my eye for people to be happy to see the winter soldier in the mcu that are in the mcu (not real people)

I think its more likely that he is captured by an evil group and get experimented on. If he shows up again is probably to explain the origin of another villain.

If Isaiah was sent to prison during the Korean War(1951) for 30 years, he didn't get out until the early 80s. Fury didn't become director of S.H.I.E.L.D. until the 90s after Captain Marvel took place. So he wasn't around when Isaiah was locked up. If anyone would've known, it would be either Peggy Carter or Howard Stark. Remember, Stark had created his own super soldier serum that he was later killed for by the Winter Soldier along with his wife. Then again the DoD was a separate entity from S.H.I.E.L.D and they kept him locked up in a secret location. Isaiah has to be currently in his 90s and I wonder if Eli is his biological grandfather because Isaiah's wife died while he was in prison. Or maybe his child was born before prison.

I think making Madani the nurse would make perfect sense. In Breaking Bad there was always a pay off when two seemingly unrelated things affected each other. I could see that strong payoff in the MCU if it turns out Madani and Bradley had a history. Just like what are the odds that Steve would end up getting protected by Peggy Carter's niece??

how could the soul stone be returned? unlike the other stones, it wasn't clearly indicated where exactly the stone is located.. sure on the planet voramir... but where? Did Steve just put it on the ground, or did he give it to Red Skull? If so, can we really count the stone as returned?

From what I understand, a lot of the support for the flagsmasher movement was due to how the GRC was treating them and I'd like to think Sam's speech at the end had a big enough impact that would result in the GRC making changes to accommodate these people better. And if that were the case, there wouldn't be much of a reason for them to fight.

hey Erik i wanna here from you how you feel about this,that Sharon is a Skrull? 1st Falcon and a Winter soldier was set several months after End Game. 2nd Sharon was also dusted after Infinity War. 3rd its 5yrs being blipped that was very short time to become a Power Broker right?
