One of my favorite players of all time. During his best years with Boston he would always up his game in the 4th quarter and end games strong, He said he would do it, and he always did. Also remember him as a spectacular player for the Sacramento Kings when he first came into the league. I hope the last chapters of his NBA career are happier and luckier ones.

I remember when he played for the lakers. Always seemed like he was giving his all. I remember when he got switched on defense to Dirk Nowitzki and he harassed him out of his shot. He was the shortest player on either team.

Honestly, you can't knock the guys accomplishments. Even making it to the league as many times as he did given the circumstances is incredible. Thousands of players without any setbacks don't even make it to the league, let alone making 35 million and proving yourself to still be on that level after passing 30 with injury and hardship.

Im so glad to see IT back. He deserves it. I broke most of the bones in my foot, did a complete spiral fracture of the tailus bone in much the same way IT did his ankle. It robs you of so much confidence when you KNOW putting any kind of lateral pressure on it can cause it to break again. He has worked so hard to get physically right with his foot/hip, plus recovering from the emotional aspect of the loss of his sister and being dismissed by his team and the league. Good on him, I wish him the best.

I'm a big boss in Celtic fan but I was pissed on how they treated him and handled that situation. He gave his all basically risking a gigantic contract by playing hurt the way he did. I wonder how many players would have set and not played, especially knowing that you could screw yourself out of financial security in the future and then to have that team do what they did. I understand it's a business but I do believe you take care of people that did stuff like he did. Just like I'm still pissed that they got rid of. I've been waiting for this. He's not at retirement age yet, he can probably still play amazingly well for a couple of years, we saw his performances against tough competition with NBA in those tournaments that include a number of NBA players, pros from all around the world, and top level (just shy of NBA type players) and he SMOKED them for like 60 PTS That was a couple of years ago, but you can see that he loves to play, especially when the pressure is on. These teams dont realize what an amazing anomaly he is. At his height, able to do things that very few players (HES EVEN SHORTER THAN ME!) That is thought of as a disadvantage in the NBA, but with the game having firmly shifted to "small ball" he'd likely be able to contribute on a team like the warriors, who also have a lot of vets where he wont be out of place, the bench players see good playing time there, and players like Kuminga have successfully proven their worth by just killing it on the court. If he's truly healthy, then any team who has a spot to fill at point and doesn't at least consider signing him are a dumb franchise. We all want to see this comeback story, and although it would seem that the odds are stacked against him, my moneys actually on his refusing to be overlooked this time.

He should’ve gotten a chance back again in Cleveland with Lauri K Love injured Sexton Rubio , during the vibe year with PG depletion at all star break, he was averaging 40 in the G league.. we had Kevin Pangos & Goodwin & a Tim Fraizer signing… crazy, he deserved redemption and would’ve got us in the playoffs. As he was another level above those guys, would’ve graciously taken a backseat once DG was healthy. All that defense,.. what could’ve been. K love mental health awareness ambassador should understand IT4 headspace and injury issues in hindsight over their beef. Could’ve been beautiful and helped him show out for a end of the bench spot or close on high note and retire.

The best move for him would have been to go to europe a few years back. The style of play and especially the Zone Defense would have allowed him to hide his height on defense.

I hope he is able to make it all the way back. No, he won't ever be MVP level again. But if he can be a solid backup point guard/6th man for a few years, I would be happy for him. Like I know if he makes it all the way back, I could see him signing with the Sacramento Kings and replacing the very inconsistent Davion Mitchell as De'Aaron Fox's backup. It would be a solid move if he can stay healthy. Because I.T. has always had great instincts as a ball handler and even though he was never a great defender because of his stature, he always put forth a lot of effort. He wasn't a lazy player and it showed. From everything I have heard about him, he sounds like he is a nice guy as well when off the court. Granted I only know of a few people who have met him, and I haven't...so who knows on that aspect. People used to say Rajon Rondo was a nice guy away from the court, just an asshole on it because he expected people to work hard to get better and it rubbed younger players the wrong way. But, I hope Thomas can make it back. I really do. It would be a feel good story if next season especially he ends up the comeback player of the year. I don't know if he would have enough time to pull that off this season.

Id take Thomas In Toronto right now, would be an amazing mentor for some of our younger players and a positive influence in the locker room

IT is 1 of those players that should be on a team even if he is only giving a few minutes a game,. Problem is the veterans minimum is so much now, it does not help teams having vets like in the last decade because they gotta pay them starter money. So long to the guys like Andre Miller, Kurt Thomas, PJ Brown, Sam Cassell that were mentors and and extra coach, and could step up when needed. It makes much more sense to pay young guys to develop. It hurts the league because the more name recognition that is on a roster, the more they can relate to fans.

I am from the Seattle area (not far from Tacoma which is Isaiah's hometown) and I am 5 foot 8. I am so proud of Isaiah Thomas for what he had done during 2015-2017. A player of his stature should not have done what he had done even if it's "just" two seasons.
