How much mileage does it give you? I get around 6-7 kmpl...don't know what to do. I love the car too much to buy a new car. The car is in a different league in terms of build quality.

Mine gives around 6-7 during spirited driving. If the car is serviced and the tyres are in good condition and balanced, i can take out about 11-13.

Even im having the same issue. I see there is no proper replacement for this car in the market and I really dont want to sell it. It’s still like new. It turns 15 in a few months and I’m not ready to let it go.

@@gagannijjar3506 not really. These days service costs around 5000₹. Service cycle is every 10,000km or once a year. Spares are still available and aren’t costing much.

Hi. That's true. And felt more when at crawling speeds. No difference noticed when cruising on the highways...

Mine is sx4 vxi 2009 model pre-owned car, clocked 120000km recently. Engine refinement, power delivery is like a new car,just a problem with it's steering rack,its quite hard as compared to new generation cars. Recently did overhauling of steering rack at local shop eg.rack bushings replaced nd all still steering is not that smooth. MAS tlod me to change whole steering rack assembly which cost approx 40k...any solutions? Otherwise car is just phenomenal in terms of performance, i won't sell in near future..love sx4

@@sandipkale9351 check bodomo online..I think the part is cheaper compared to Maruti authorised service. Mass quoted me about 30k to replace the entire steering rack in bangalore.

@@sandipkale9351 It costed me 32K including the labor at MASS. They have steering gear on 2 item code, the older one will cost about 38K while the newer one is cheaper by 8K. Walk into the spares section of any MASS and inquire with them. FYI - SX4 steering gear for diesel model may about a bit more close to 35K.

Petrol gives 12 to 13 max in goa city driving. Highway driving gives around 15 to 16 if you maintain speed of 80. My speeds are high so I usually get 14 on highways. Diesel engine will give better overall mileage.

@@shivoham2255 No difference in real life. All big capacity engines will give similar mileage. For eg corolla 1.8 petrol gives 10 in city and 13 on highways. Accord 2.4 petrol gives 8 in city and 10 on highways. That is why manufacturers now a days have launched small capacity but turbo petrol engines. Good power without sacrificing fuel economy.

Just got confused as one of my friends suggested me to go with the VVT engine over the old one as the old one has poor fuel efficiency (he said the old engine delivers 8-9 in city, 10-11 on highways whilst the VVT engine delivers 10-12 in city and 14-15 on highways. So, I got confused. Please advise.

Get the car's electronic throttle body cleaned.This will solve the problem.

I think I'm eligible to answer your question as I somewhat managed to fix it in my SX4 ZXI 2007 model, after spending a lot of Money nearly 50K on replacement of 4 mounts/bedding, full clutch assembly, NGK iridium spark plugs, K&N Air filter, throttle body cleaning(lost the count), Injector cleaning(lost the count). Ultimately, the drive shaft replacement fixed this problem. I have done extensive research to get rid of this issue, SX4 2007 and 2008 models were produced with faulty drive shafts and Maruti silently replaced it under warranty for those customers complained about low idle, shuddering and jerky pick up on first and second gear. Many non enthusiast customers ignored this problem as Maruti dealers could easily convince them claiming the behaviour is normal in all petrol SX4s comes with M16 engine. Anyways, I hope my answer will help you, though its a bit lengthy.
