@RedDragonForce23 ай бұрын
Not necessarily. She followed her Necklace too closely. She had other moves that would win her the duel. She relied too much on her item and not enough on her skill.
She followed the necklace to the letter because it probably showed her a route to saving her brother. If she deviated from the route, the chances of her saving her brother becomes less and less likely. Example: Winning on round 4 could make Yami Marik less arrogant and more cautious, disallowing a victory where he lets his guard down in a crucial point in a future duel, if she won on round 5 or 6. Future playing is setting the right dominos to collapse way in advance.

This is a contradiction on Ishizu’s Millennium Necklace’s Future Telling. Ishizu tells Kaiba he is fated to duel the Pharaoh again, but later tells him he’s fated to lose to her. Given how the tournament brackets go, Ishizu’s Necklace is showing contradictory visions. If Ishizu wins, she’s wrong about Kaiba dueling the Pharaoh. If Kaiba Wins, Ishizu is wrong about getting Obelisk back from Kaiba. You see how these two visions can’t both happen once Kaiba and Ishizu are dueling before Kaiba and the Pharaoh are dueling? Ishizu made her moves like reading lines from a script, never once questioning how she could win if she played differently. I compare this to another power in another show: Psyqualia in Vanguard. Psyqualia can show one outcome, but that doesn’t mean it’s always guaranteed, because a miracle Heal Trigger can save the opponent and let them counter attack for victory.

Well, if we are looking realistically, if Ishizu decided to not summon a third monster and just decided to go for game, Kaiba would've resorted to using soul exchange to summon the blue-eyes white dragon. Kaiba may have wanted to beat Ishizu with Obelisk, but he would not have allowed himself to lose the duel if he knew he would not be able to do so. What would've happen tho was that, now the virus bomb would have been inside the blue-eyes white dragon, instead of obelisk, and if Kaiba attacked, he would've lost with the blue-eyes. So for Kaiba to win, he had to tribute all of Ishizu's monsters, including the one with the virus bomb, in order to summon Obelisk, and then tribute obelisk and the other monster that Kaiba brought back from the GY, in order to summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon to attack ishizu directly for game. Kaiba had no other way to win the game at that point.

But that's not really the way the soul exchange works, and yes she could have won, but it wasn't meant for that to happen. She knew that the only way hey brother could have possibly been defeated was for him to advance. It's weird how the animated series and how the cards actually work are two different things. Soul exchange works by you having a monster on the field and your opponent having a monster on the field, if you're requiring more than one tribute. Your opponent has to have at least one monster on the field for soul exchange to work, and you cannot attack on the turn that you use that card. So you have to set it up this other cards in order to successfully pull off a victory.
