Puma is a 4yo mare from Fox Hog, CA HMA. She is a BLM mustang and stands about 15.3hh. Isidro will be training her for the new 2024 Las Vegas Mustang Challenge put on by Mustang Champions. They will be competing in Las Vegas in July 2024. Follow along as he posts regular update videos of his journey with this stunning mare!

Wow, beauty! I'm a little partial to buckskins to start with, and she's better built than a lot of the AQHA horses I recently watched go through the ring. I can't help but be bias because she reminds me so much of an all around ranch horse I got to ride as a young teen. What an incredible find. She's a Kiger Mustang which means she came from Southeastern Oregon down around Jordan Valley/Steens Mountain. So that brings me to ask WHERE WERE YOU WHEN YOU GOT HER? Tell your friend that they are being recognized as a separate breed of horses & have their own registry.

I am not a fan of your method using a rope, in a small square pen and there is no release of pressure on her. Drag lines are nasty as well. Why not use the round pen join up method of Monty Roberts?

He is successfully taking wild horses and making them into willing partners thus ensuring they won't end up in the kill pen. He turns out confident, soft & knowledgeable horses. Try observing & learning instead of comparing & judging.

Much more humane? A little more humane. Stay safe. Doing good work. There are plenty of horses in the USA. We need to slow down how many are bred just to be thrown away.
