Excited to present our guest on the show today, Mohsin Raza Khan. He is an Associate Professor at The School of International Affairs, Jindal Global University. He is a former Chevening Scholar and an FRM from GARP, NY.
Religion is a complex and varied phenomenon that has played a significant role in human history. The history of religion is difficult to trace because it has evolved over time and varies greatly across different cultures and societies. Over time, organized religions with complex belief systems and hierarchies developed, including the major world religions of today such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and more. These religions have shaped the course of human history and continue to influence the way people live and think today.
Hope you enjoy this episode.

The oldest evidences of domesticated horses are in fact from India. They are often mentioned in Ramayana and Mahabharata. In fact there are a few horse breeds which are native to certain parts of India only like the ones at Matheran.

As Hindus we should be open to hearing and understanding other religions and cultures. And how these cultures interpret ours … that’s what Hinduism has always been about open mindedness… I didn’t find this podcast biased in any way he only spoke facts he read . Today’s gen need patience in hearing to others as well .. about horses he’s talking about a specific century during Indus Valley civilisation I guess not periods of mahabharata or ramayana that’s my interpretation from the podcast .

The reason he looks down is because he's trying hard to conceal the Truth and think of what to say to propagate his agenda. That's why whenever Ranveer exhibits trust in the speaker (ie., no intention to confront) and/or enthusiasm in the topic being discussed, the speaker looks straight at Ranveer and even his speech becomes more fluent and just "flows".

would love a podcast on greek mythology... btw thanks a lot to Ranveer and his team for bringing about these podcasts for us ❤ Ranveer my man, i was in that stage of my life when after being brought up in a middle class brahmin family from bengal and growing up i went secular at a stage and then after some tragedies of my life happened i turned to an atheistic ideology for life... I'm a song-writer by profession, a content creator... but was stuck in my creative space... i followed beerbiceps long back when i was into fitness so i knew your face all along... but recently my sister re introduced your podcasts to me... at this stage, like u say a middle class boy usually has religious ideals because of the way he/she is brought up, then when we grow a lil older in colleges n stuff we see these things too critically and gradually turn to atheism... And then comes the stage when we become spiritual looking for meaning in our own religion... I'm back on the way of God because of you... Lots of love... Ranveer Allahbadia and team ❤🍻

I have listened to many of your podcasts. This was one of the most informative. And raises two key questions. 1. Why haven't there been any "New" established & society changing religions / theistic beliefs. 2. With all these learnings, how are scholars influencing the leaders & followers on what direction will the society take. It seems that "specific" dialogue is absent. And it seems that it is being used more for political gain without true "spiritual" influence. By "spiritual" I mean to say true spirit of the society & its elements. Would love to listen to a long 2-3 hour debate in one of your podcast with a few scholars / economists / political representatives on it. National vs International Dialogue.

Wait a minute, Slave is not dasa. Slave is the one who is forced to be a slave without freedom. Dasa is the servent who selfwilled to serve someone like God as long as one wants, maintaining freedom. Slavery is alien to Vedic civilization. there is no word for a forced slaved in sanskrit or in our ancient sanatan vedic civilisation. slavery is against dharma. Aryan invasion theory is leftist fruad. Arya is not a race it is title given to ancient educated people who graduated from Vedic-buddhist universities and gurukul education systems. Arya means Nobel. for eg. Buddhism has concept of 4 Aryasatta (4 Nobel truth.). Arya = Nobel, Satta/Satya/Satt = Truth. Nobody is Arya by birth it is earned by karma/achievements/actions/siddhi and gunas/skills/talent. accoding to our hindu and buddhist scriptures. that completely exposed this evil aryan-dravidian political separatism myth.

It was interesting to listen to a different perspective , It would be nice to have a few historians with expertise on different regions like South India and North India, Malay Archipelago, China, Japan, Persia, Africa, Europe discuss together in a positive way regarding ancient history and civilisation. I'm simply putting it as South India and North India because there seems to be excavation there regrading old civilization like keezhadi. So if an expert on the culture and history can represent would be nice to hear their view as well.

His education background is "Mr. Khan possesses a master’s in international economics and international relations from the School of Advanced International Studies, The Johns Hopkins University, with a specialization in South Asia. He also has an MA in Global Political Economy from the University of Hull where he was a British Chevening Scholar. His undergraduate degree is in economics from the University of Delhi." Whatever he is saying is definitely only his self delusional deductions. No linguistic or historian or archaeologist background but he is so confident about his deductions.

Bro. I have got an interesting idea. How about a constructive debate between Abhijit Chavda and Mohsin Raza Khan on the same line of debate between Randall Carlson, Graham Hancock and michael shermer, This woud be really eye opening and highly educative. Both are gentlemen, well educated and would never descend into a fight. Please please consider this bro. This would be awesome. Topic would be Aryan Invasion theory. At the end, I would like to see them smile and shake hands (even say agree to disagree 🙂)

Can Sinauli burials be non-Vedic? Some analysts are dismissing Sinauli as un related to Vedic culture or Samskṛtī because the people are buried instead of cremated. It is sure cremation is popular in Sanātana Dharma, but burials are also present in our tradition. Burials are also mentioned in Ṛgveda as one of the ways in which the dead individuals are treated, as we have already seen. Another doubt that has arisen is due to the design of the head-gears. The head-gear of some of the warriors contains horns. In the current depictions of our ancient people, the horned-headgear is associated with the Daityas and the Dānavas. It will be misleading to conclude that Sinauli is non-Vedic based on these factors alone. The Bharatas and their ancestors were an admixture of the Ādityas, the Daityas and the Dānavas. The ancestral king Yayāti had two wives Devayāni and Ṡarmiṣthā. Devayāni, is the daughter of Daitya Guru Ṡukrāchārya. She is the mother of Yadu and Turvaṡa, the eldest sons of Yayāti. Ṡarmiṣthā is the daughter of the Daitya king Vṛṣaparvā. She is the mother of Anu, Druhyu and Pūru, the younger sons of Yayāti. The mother of all the Yadavas is Devayāni and the mother of Pūru, the founder of the Pūru dynasty is Ṡarmiṣthā, both Daitya women. The Bharatas descended from the Pūrus and the Kurus like the Pāndavas and Kauravas descended from the Bharatas. Kṛṣṇa, Balarāma and other Vṛṣnis descended from the Yadavas. The Dānavas like Maya were allies of the Paṇḍavas who gave them many weapons and chariots. The chariot of Arjuna came from Varuṇa, who is revered by the Bhargava sages like the Asura Guru Sukrachārya and by the sages in the lineage of Vasiṣṭha and Agastya. Vasiṣṭha was the priest of Sri Rama. Vyasa was the descendant of Vasiṣṭha and the grandfather and guide of the Paṇḍavas. The Ṛgveda mentions many wars and the Purāṇas render them as the wars between the Devas and the Asuras. But if we analyse the Ṛgveda closely, these wars are fought between the people who worship Indra (like the Purus and the Bharatas) and the other people who don't worship Indra (like the Anus and the Druhyus). The Purāṇas portrayed the people who do not worship Indra as the Asuras, categorizing them as Daityas and Dānavas. The word used by Ṛgveda for the non-Indra worshipers is anindra (those who are without Indra) and avrata (those who don't have any devotion to Indra). The Sinauli settlement with their burial practices and horned head-gears can as well belong to the groups affiliated to the Daitya-Dānavas like Maya Dānava. But this doesn't make them non-Vedic, because Dānavas like Maya do have a place in our Veda, Itihasa Purāṇas. The Analysis of the Place Names The place Sinauli falls in the Kuru Rāṣtra, or the Kuru Janapada, the region between Ganga in the east and Sarasvati in the west and divided by Yamuna into two parts. A place named after Maya viz. Mayastali or Mayarāṣtra (Meerut, 52 km away) is close to Sinauli. The places mentioned in the Mahābhārata like the Vyāghra-prasta (Baghpat, 25 km away), Svarna-prasta (Sonipat, 29 km away), Paniprasta (35 km away), Varanavati (21 km away) are close to Sinauli. Hastinapura is 75 km to the east and Indraprasta is 55 km to the south of Sinauli. Paruṡurāma Kṣetra (now Alamgirpur, the eastern most Harappan settlement, 3300-1300 BCE) is 33 km away from Sinauli, where Paruṡurāma taught weaponry to Bhīṣma. The region around Sinauli is dotted with places resembling chariot construction such as Rathora (Rathakāra - chariot-maker, 6 km away) and Luhara (Lohakāra - metal worker, 2 km away). The name Sinauli is likely a derived form of Sina-sthali, similar to the other place-names in Kuru Rashtra ending with the suffix 'sthali' (meaning - a place) like Bastali (Vyasa-sthali), Bamanauli (Brahmana-sthali). The place names in Kuru Rashtra, contains suffixes like Prasta, Sthali and Kṣetra. The word 'sina' means a 'store’, 'garment' 'fetter', 'bond', 'body' etc, implying that it is one of the places associated with making chariots and weapons. Probably the people who lived in this Sinauli settlement were a warrior class of men and women supplying weapons to the army of the kings. Sinauli and the Kurukṣetra War Whether the warriors buried in the Sinauli burials participated in the Kurukṣetra War as one among the many small military units, depends on the chosen date of the Kurukṣetra War. Sinauli excavations are dated to 2100 BCE to 1900 BCE. One of the Kurukṣetra War dates close to it is 1793 BCE proposed by Shri Ashok Bhatnagar. If we take this Kurukṣetra War as the basis, then the Sinauli warriors were 100 to 300 years older to the Kurukṣetra War, placing them as part of the late Ṛgvedic period, during the formative periods of the 1st, 5th, 8th, 9th or the 10th Maṇḍalas, especially the 10th Maṇḍala. Several battles are mentioned in these Maṇḍalas too, like in the older Maṇḍalas. With the Kurukṣetra War date at 1793 BCE, we can date Samtanu mentioned in the 10th Maṇḍala of Ṛgveda to around 1930 BCE. Samtanu is the youngest king in the lineage of the Bharata kings mentioned in the Ṛgveda, who also appear as the ancestors of the Pāṇḍavas and the Kauravas who waged the Kurukṣetra War. In the linage of kings leading to the Pāṇḍavas, the Ṛgveda stops at Samtanu. In the linage of sages leading to Vyāsa, the Ṛgveda stops at Parāṡara. Samtanu’s son Vicitravīrya and Parāṡara’s son Vyāsa is in the future of Ṛgveda. Dhṛtarāṣtra and Pāṇdu are the next generation of Vicitravīrya and Vyāsa. The Kauravas and the Pāṇḍavas who took place in the Kurukṣetra War are in the next generation of Dhṛtarāṣtra and Pāṇdu. Thus, this date 1793 BCE corroborates well with our analysis that the chariot and the Sinauli burial sites belong to the 10th Maṇḍala funeral hymns which speaks about the burials. Another date of Kurukṣetra War 1952 BCE is from Shri Mohan Gupta. If we follow this date, then this settlement falls right in the Kurukṣetra War period. The 3K Kurukṣetra War dates of Shri Vedaveer Arya (3162 BCE) and Manish Pandit (3067 BCE) will make the settlement well into the future of the lifetime of the Kuru-Paṇḍavas during the lifetime of their descendants named in the Purāṇas like Viṣṇu Purāṇa. There is another date by Shri KK Ramamurthy at 1504 BCE and RN Iyengar at 1478 BCE which will make this settlement part of the middle Ṛgvedic period of Maṇḍala 2 and 4, closer to the lifetime of the sages like Gr̥tsamada and kings like Sahadeva and Somaka or even to the early period of Maṇḍala 6, 3 and 7, closer to the lifetime of the kings like Sudās and Divodāsa depending upon the variability in the chronology of the Maṇḍala wise evolution of the Ṛgveda.

What a podcast. A Gem in itself. Especially I got so concentrated and rapt in silence (i see even Ranveer too) from 1:06 through the evolution of axial religions. Such a great explanation. It really requires an open mind ( in other words courage (1st cardinal value for Greeks as mentioned by Mohsin) to be open to Truth) that shakes one's inherent beliefs. Mohsin also explains why it is difficult to be Open telling us about Ontological/Cognitive Security near 41:00 that threatens people with almost severe non physical pain..But for people who comes out of the Comfort zone, it helps to go closer to the Truth. So this Podcast should have a Caution: Seriously for the Courageous :) . I want to add one last comment: Any Evidence based Science (I mean History too including all the General Sciences) Compared to Spirituality and Religion has one serious disadvantage. It will definitely lift you from Ignorance at the Intellectual level but will not guarantee the experience of Enlightenment and Joy or either worldly Peace, and Love that Spirituality or Religion offers( Ranveer mentions it as the Beauty of Spirituality at then end of it) , Science will just lifts you from the rut but hangs you in the middle. Also some people use Science and Atheism to escape from the effort and ego sacrifice (surrender) a person has to put to evolve into Higher Consciousness.

Lord, his speech just hurts my ears, and don't know why feel mentally disturbed by hearing this man speak, In a very subtle way, he is making sure he is building a narrative, ensuring to stamp us that the Indian heritage is borrowed by these tribal gulf cultures. India was disorganized and isolated, and somehow gulf was more organized and civilized give a break, and after being a genuine follower of this channel never i thought I'll come across so a centric and rigid perspective, I just can't understand why it sounds so interesting to Ranveer.

I understand your sarcasm. but for brainwashed I have to write this to unwash them. Nobody is Arya by birth it is earned by karma/achievements/actions/siddhi and gunas/skills/talent. according to our hindu and buddhist scriptures. that completely exposed this evil aryan-dravidian political separatism myth.

Kaikeyi, step mom of Rama was from Iran. Infact there was a Hindu king named Dusharat who ruled Turkey. ...it is corrupted name of the original name Dusharath. It is in turkey that they found a tablet written in sanskrit about training of horses. So, Mohsins claim that India dint have horses is false. A chariot was discovered in Sanauli ...so was that carried by cows? Also, sufis were not spiritual at all....they were the eyes of their kings( from. Islamized Iran), to keep eyes on kashmir. The intro of your guest dint appeal to me to see this episode.

He mentions about Vishnu in dwarflike form. That is considered as vaman avatara of Lord Vishnu, his 5th Avatara. So his statement "Vishnu is not how we imagine him to be, in the orginial story he is dwarf who works with Gods." Thats because Vamana avatar is not the original story, it is just one part of the whole evolution of various avatars. Same can be said about Rudra. Thats why Lord Shiva gave pashupatashtra to Arjuna in Mahabharat. Our ancient scriptures covers wide knowledge around this.

@@derikcj7137 beautiful thing about sanatan Dharma is whether you consider the scriptures for real or only in their symbolic sense, their effect will be magnificent. That doesn't mean take every word or action mentioned in scriptures in a literal sense. They are not rulebooks. The idea is to raise awareness of life, consciousness and state of being. But it's good that you are not reading them or believing them. Because for some ignorants in the world there is no solace. Goodluck 👍🏼
