Definitely wasn’t a lucky punch. Neither hand was by his chin and he winged an overhand that he didn’t set up. His lead foot wasn’t even on the ground. This is what Conor means when he says “just a wrestler w an overhand right” or in this case left I believe.

@@bjp_borznah man , I like Islam but that was not a bad stoppage. You don’t need to be seizing up on the ground like Bryce Mitchell for them to deem it worthy of stopping a fight. The entire purpose of a stoppage is to protect the fighter from taking unnecessary damage to the head after they’ve suffered concussive head trauma and aren’t in a great position to defend themselves. Sure flash knockdowns one thing and we’ve seen guys recover and even win, but that wasn’t a flash knockdown man, islam got dropped, fell , didn’t even brace the fall and a couple undefended shots later the ref rightfully stepped in. Just because he immediately got up doesn’t mean anything
