I practiced kung fu when I was a teenager and sometimes I would practice before going to school in the morning in the snow, but until now I have breathing problems and my lungs are badly damaged. You shouldn't do anything without a lot of training and practice.

Ice training wakes up every killer instinct in the body and in the mind. It makes you think faster and clearer the rest of the day as well and heals the previous days workout. The body will naturally overcome things it normally wouldn't if you do this. A lot of ppl who try ice training become addicted to it because of how it makes you feel the rest of the day.

@@TheTrympetenclearly you haven't. Finnish Michigander here. So I know a bit about saunas and cold weather. He probably got overheated in there and needed to cool off. It's easy to do and feels great after you're in a sauna or hot tub for a long period of time Nothing better than saunas and hot tubs in the winter for that very reason. In highschool we'd make snow angels in just our swim shorts after an outdoor hot tub session lol

This is basically what a hydrotherapy contrast shower does: you alternate hot and cold to promote circulation. You get a weird, tingly sensation afterwards. The cold part also strengthens the mind.

It's survivability 101. The snow wicks moisture away. Water is very efficient with heat transfer so you're going to lose a lot of body heat from the cold water stripping heat from your body. The snow wicks moisture away and reduces the heat transfer. Guys who cold plunge in frozen lakes will do this before using a towel.
