On Wednesday 19th February 2020, Madinah Society hosted a debate between Shaykh Asrar Rashid and Christian apologetics; Hatun Tash and Caleb Courneloup at The University of Manchester.
The topic of debate was related to choosing a faith between Islam and Christian. Each debater argued reasons for their faith and against the other. Both parties presented 30 minute opening presentations, followed by a rebuttal period of 20 minutes and 10 minutes respectively, after which the floor was open to audience members to question the speakers.

@Bengali Warrior You're very clearly not well informed on the subject. Firstly you need to study anthropology how cultures have different norms. The age of consent even in the UK only 140 years ago was 13 I believe. The reason being because life was simpler people would mentally mature quicker as well as being biologically mature which is the biological definition of an adult. However rightfully so the age of consent is now much higher because we live far more complex lives and society itself has become very complex therefore the age of consent is now higher. But throughout history from the east to the west as little as over 140 years ago marriages at young age was completely normal as long as the mental and biological maturity was met also due to the harshness of the lifestyle the hand to mouth sort of living required a sense of security at a younger age logically. So now in 2020 to super Impose today's society's norms on to a civilisation 1400 years ago Is a grave injustice. Think about it if he peace be upon him was how you make him out to be why would he reject women and wealth which he was offered by his enemies to appease him and he rejected it. all his wives were either widowed or divorcees except 1 and he didnt keep marital relations with them all and instead only fulfilled their rights and provided them security and support etc. Even after his peace be upon hims passing all his wives, family and companions peace be upon them all had nothing but praise for him he was the most amazing man to ever walk this earth and not how you make him out to be even after he peace be upon him passed away they did nothing but praise the greatest of all creation. Besides if your point was valid why did even his own enemies at that time never bring this point up? They didnt bring it up because it was normal. I guess we'll find out the truth when we die wont we? Be sincere you have only 1 life dont ruin it.

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone drinks poison, the poison will be in his hand (on the Day of Judgement) and he will drink it in Hell-fire and he will live in it eternally. There is no authentically transmitted narration which mentions that Sayyidinā Khalid ibn al-Waleed (رضي الله عنه) ingested poison. This narration is Da’eef [i.e., weak]; both, Abu Safar and Abu Bardah (رحمهما لله) do not have Samaa’ [i.e., coming in contact with a muhaddith to hear hadith from him] from Sayyidinā Khalid ibn al-Waleed (رضي الله عنه). A similar narration has been reported from Qays ibn Abi Hazim. [See: Fada’il al-Sahabah lil Ahmad: 1481] However, the version which has the mention of drinking the poison is weak as its chain contains two Mudallis narrators Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah and Isma’il ibn Abi Khalid, both, narrating with the unexplicit reporting word ‘عن‘ , and no Tasreeh of Samaa‘ is found. Indeed, the same chain has been mentioned in Sahih al-Bukhari as well; nevertheless, there, the words pertaining to drinking the poison are not mentioned. And, it is a rule that, besides in Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim, only those words of a Mudallis narrator will be considered reliable where a Tasreeh of Samaa‘ is found.

This narration is Da’eef [i.e., weak]; both, Abu Safar and Abu Bardah (رحمهما لله) do not have Samaa’ [i.e., coming in contact with a muhaddith to hear hadith from him] from Sayyidinā Khalid ibn al-Waleed (رضي الله عنه). A similar narration has been reported from Qays ibn Abi Hazim. [See: Fada’il al-Sahabah lil Ahmad: 1481] However, the version which has the mention of drinking the poison is weak as its chain contains two Mudallis narrators Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah and Isma’il ibn Abi Khalid, both, narrating with the unexplicit reporting word ‘عن‘ , and no Tasreeh of Samaa‘ is found. Indeed, the same chain has been mentioned in Sahih al-Bukhari as well; nevertheless, there, the words pertaining to drinking the poison are not mentioned. And, it is a rule that, besides in Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim, only those words of a Mudallis narrator will be considered reliable where a Tasreeh of Samaa‘ is found. There is no authentically transmitted narration which mentions that Sayyidinā Khalid ibn al-Waleed (رضي الله عنه) ingested poison.

Shaykh reason why i love so much? I owe my Akhira and Aqeeda to Shaykh Asrar and Pir Saqib Shaami. I almost converted my Creed to Deobandism. However after listening to lectures of these two lions any rational mind would obviously choose Ahlus-Sunnah without doubt. Alhamdulillah i am a staunch Sunni now.

Please , i need to know from the Christian speakers to provide the following 1- How old was Mary when she got pregnant with Jesus 2- when Mary was going through labor to give birth to her son Jesus no one will take her into their home to deliver her child not even her own family? Why God did not help her, or help his Son? Or himself ,and she end-up in the animal stable This where God was Born? 3- when Jesus was a kid his mother was prying for him as her God? And the children playing with him they know that he they are playing with God? 3- when Jesus was taken to Egypt , where did he live and coming back as a grown up man? How do we know he was the same person, or a different person, so God was away for long time from his people And Jesus / God return back just to sacrifice him self to the thief’s, malicious people, to wipe out the sins I do not believe this is true God does not need to commit suicide to save others God is unseen If any one sees him will die - where is Jesus family - where is Mary Grave - who are Jesus brothers -where Joseph Grave If you are real Christian will you kill you Son for others????
