Hello from Islamabad, you are always welcome to visit. Those mountains are the foothills of Himalayas and are filled with water springs/streams and wild life including leopards but they never attacks people or come to multiple treks where people go for hiking at multiple trails. Islamabad is one of the best planned city in the world it is even studied in urban planning courses internationally. It has grid systems Sectors A,..E, F, G..going away from hills and 1,2 3 paralleled to hills. Every sector has market business area in the middle called Markaz while other main business and education institutes areas in dedicated sectors (whole Sector H and some other like I9). Also for buildings dedicated Blue Area line in center of city going parallel to hills between G & F but it has restrictions on high rise buildings so the view of mountains is not blocked. Also each sector is divided into further four sub sectors (each 1sqkm). e.g F-7/1, F-7/2..F-7/4. Best part is every sector has mandatory green areas, public parks, public library, public gyms, sports grounds in each sector and also green areas after every sector in every direction including one whole 4 sqkm F-9 sector is dedicated to Park only the one u saw Fatima Jinnah Park, that is why its known as one of the most beautiful city in the world definitely greenest. It also has its own lake and dam (actually there are two one is just in the middle which u saw) and this city is located at v near to some wicked cities Rawalpindi which is like old congested town full of culture, both also known as twin cities and then Peshawar oldest city of South Asia is 1.5hrs away and Taxila one of oldest ruins sites (5000yrs old) and Sawan Valley 1 million yrs old is 40mins away, also the mountains areas like Murree Hills is 1hr drive where it snows alot in winter. P.S: lol its a big comment n u asked for my rant when u reacted to my city..I can go on but i think u may get an idea about now haha. Please react to Pakistan in 6min to get an idea about places in Pakistan and its diverse landscape P.S: Actually in world wide Top 10 beautiful capital cities list published by multiple international lists in which Islamabad was listed 2nd so now its marketed as such. I say it is on Top at #1.

😀 Islamabad💚....my home city. Thanks. To answer some of your questions: Islamabad is very green and organised via grid reference ie areas are called F9 or F11 etc. The authorities in charge of the city agreed that for every sqaure kilometre of concrete development their must be equal greenery. Hence the greenness. Its a modern city as was only built in 1960 when Pakistan decided to build a new capital on what was barren land. Built by a Greek urban planner who also planned Philadephia-USA & Riyadh-Saudi Arabia. F.A.S.T University is basically for those interested in IT, Computer sciences, Technology amongst other similar degrees. Islamabad doesn't have the architectural history, culinary & cultural strengths or energy of Lahore, Multan, Peshawar or even Karachi but is a nice laid back, spacious & chilled city. Its why I love it💚

At the time of Independence of Pakistan in 1947, Karachi was declared the Capital of Pakistan. Karachi is situated at the south end of Pakistan with a southern border consisting of a long coast line. This City was considered as easy attraction for Naval Attack and easy for tanks and artillery as it was on Plains too. So in 1960's the Government of Pakistan decided to build its Capital in the Center of the country a place surrounded by mountains on all side and no coast line. So this Place was chosen and was named Islamabad (City of Islam), before it was all jungle except a shrine of holy person. The city has no historical buildings. Mostly the Capitals are noisy but, Islamabad is most quiet Capital of the world no car horns, no shouting no streets food etc. It has nice restaurants amusement places, picnic spots etc and had a number of good Uuniversities. Beside having all government offices it is the home of the number one Intelligence Agency of the World "The ISI of Pakistan".
