I have felt this a long time and I am so grateful someone is expressing this. The idea of fighting for justice it doesn’t stop at justice for muslims only. But this has been the attitude of Muslims. Especially when it is a war between Muslims and non Muslims. We play this ummah card like its a team sport. How can we be an Ummah when we accept or tolerate injustice against non muslims or when dont stand up against “muslim” rulers who commit atrocities (aka Saudi in Yemen). We never hear injustice done by muslims on non muslims or muslims against muslims. Injustice is injustice let us be consistent. Free Palestine.

Don’t forget that Muslim s denigrated Jews throughout history. The lies of Jews living peacefully amongst Islam is false. Maimonides , a Jewish scholar, stated it best in the supposed golden age of Jewish / Muslim relations. Maimonides had more to say about Jewish life under Islamic rule: “We bear the inhumane burden of their humiliation, lies and absurdities, being as the prophet said, ‘like a deaf man who does not hear or a dumb man who does not open his mouth’.... Our sages disciplined us to bear Ishmael’s lies and absurdities, listening in silence, and we have trained ourselves, old and young, to endure their humiliation, as Isaiah said, ‘I have given my back to the smiters, and my cheek to the beard pullers.’”

Thanks good chat Jzk. Also to mention that parents who moved to the west in 60s and later and made families here, have also contributed a lot to these countries by working and paying taxes. Sharing good things they had in their culture. On top of that the ones who got involved in dawah also shared the beautiful teachings of Islam that could help the local people with their soaring issues for years. Professionals like engineers, doctors, teachers, artists and scientists also brought a lot of contribution. So it’s a two way relationship of give and take. And this is the Divine Will to spread peace and love by creating such situations rather than hate and war.

I believe it is now more important than ever for Muslims to re-engage in ijtihād, placing their inherited traditions into context while also coming to terms with the realities of life and society in the twenty-first century. Quite a few contemporary ‘ulamā, such as Khaled Abou El Fadl, Taha Jabir al-‘Alwani, and Zaki Badawi, as well as academics such as Wael Hallaq, Ziba Mir-Hosseini, and Tariq Ramadan, have argued that Muslims today rely too heavily on the classic works of fiqh without considering that they were written as responses to the queries and challenges of their time, not for posterity. They contend that it is more crucial for 'ulamā today to directly engage in ijtihād bayānī with the sources of Shari’a - the Qur'an and Hadith collections - while also considering the challenges besetting Muslims of the twenty-first century, particularly in the context of Muslims who choose to live as minorities in the United States and Europe.

J'ai apprécié le débat entre le Juif Zemmour et le musulman Tarik Ramadan dans l'émission "On est pas couché". Wow & Wow my goodness how I had enjoyed watching & really paying attention to Tariq Ramadan , absolutely fascinating! Since October the 7th I had watched various videos on the Palestinians daily life, & it is still continuing now 27/12/2023, I am sure that I am not the only one who was, is, still will be truly sad, & disturbed to be a witness to the last few weeks of the Palestinians existence in Gaza, as I have heard, read, seen on the Internet that no one is ever returning to live in Gaza or elsewhere the last few remaining are going to be forced to live Palestine, it is Israel only for Jews!!!! The rest of the world has got Jews living happily where they are, of course there are quite a number of Arab/Muslim countries where also there are quite a number of Jews they are born & bred there & quite happy to remain where they are! None of them wants to come & settle in Israel, WHY?? - because they are treated the same as anyone else in that country! Well dear Tariq, I better try to stop going on about Netanyahu & his friend Joe Biden!!

Most Politicians love holding to Power. If they could reflect on this: If holding to Power means one losing His/Her Heart, then let go of Power and hold on to your Heart. By sacrificing your Heart, your Power will not benefit you in the least and even worst make You a human without intrinsic value. Holding to high principles are what make life meaningful. See how late Boxer Muhammad Ali's legacy to Humanity explicitly tells this to us: "Service to Others is the Rent you Pay for Your Room in Heaven."

Great interview. Section at 47 min 16 sec - Great question regarding other Muslim causes. Does seem to me that Arabs only care about Arab causes not Muslim causes. They value their culture and language above Islam. This hasn't changed I have seen Arab discriminate against other Arabs and definitely against non-Arabs yet the same people claim to be Muslims. The scholars may not think this way but you will find your average Arab does. They are also bedazzled by Europeans even those same Europeans would harm them.

It's kind of hard to believe Tariq Ramadan. In recent years, Ramadan has repeatedly said allegations of rape against him in France and Switzerland were a politically motivated plot and that he had been the victim of bias in the French justice system. Honestly that many allegations make it very hard to deny he didn't do anything his god wouldn't disapprove. I do not like religious people. Since 2005 the discrimination by Muslims of so called "infidels" has only grown. Islam being a force for good is only true if you cherry pick the facts. Like every other religion it enslaves people(s minds), making any other opinion unacceptable.

What a shame. He should be on boycott list too. Please make him stop talking. He already ridiculized us and his reputation did not start at the trial ...

stop promoting this liberal modernist. Why does your channel not interview conservative Deobandi Ulama?

Tariq Ramadan is not a "renowned" thinker. His books are trivial babble. Why British and American universities have "representatives of Islam" on their payroll is idiocy.
