Island Camping at Canaveral National Seashore

3 жыл бұрынWe reserved the Orange Island Site #1 for one night of primitive island camping. Watch our adventure as we try to find the correct location within Canaveral to park and launch from. We launched our paddleboards from the canoe launch at parking lot #7. The paddle was about .90 miles so not too far. We look forward to going again to a different island, maybe with our Gheenoe so we can travel farther from land.

My son, dad and I camp and fish from that island and the others in the are a few times a year. We actually caught some redfish in the little creek in the back.

We spent last week on the Weeki Wachee and Rainbow Rivers. Your videos we're very helpful. It's going to be hard to paddle anywhere else. Plus I want a Gheenoe

Well, of the 14 sites, I think Orange Island may be the best one. it certainly seems to be the most remote next to Homestead Island. I will be camping here one day.

There is a bug repellent made in Iowa called Bug Soother that works very well and is non toxic that you might check out.

I could send u some if u like. U can see its effectiveness on River Kings channel, its the Namakagen series. I introduced the crew to it, and the bugs were crazy. Nothing touched u after u sprayed it on. It's all natural, so it doesn't burn your eyes

No we didn’t see any alligators and we don’t believe they are common since it’s salt water...but you never know since it’s Florida! Enjoy your trip!
