I think this is my favorite video you've ever posted for us Kelly! You and Maria are a RIOT together! It's always great to see people ENJOYING fishing. That was proven even more-so when Maria threw such a fit catching that big drum (sheephead) at the Marina. Something that most of us Midwesterners find annoying...(only because they are usually caught by people fishing for Walleyes, or even flipping for Bass...but as wonderfully as they fight, they are usually lumped into that rough fish category, yet you guys found the beauty in such a catch and that was AWESOME! Kirk is a Cool Captain and would be a great guy to charter and go out fishin with. God Bless, and looking forward to more of that CRRRRAZY marina fish'n content!

More clear, cold, freshwater fishing please. I’m a Wisconsinite that’s fished freshwater his entire life. Back in the 80s we’d catch huge lake perch in Sister Bay, Door County. It’s not a fish fry without perch. I haven’t been on the big lake in years but I’ve fished inland lakes forever.

Great fishing area Kelly!! I grew up in Ohio and my mom and dad would take us to Lake Erie on vacation as well as Michigan. Both very beautiful areas to visit. Thanks for sharing this video and bringing back some fond memories when I was a young boy!!

I fish in Sweden's largest lake for salmon just like you did. The salmon here is the world's largest lake salmon. They can reach over 20 kg (44 pounds). Some have been shipped over to the USA and released in Lake Michigan. It is an incredibly good fish and a fantastic sport fish. I have followed your channel for years Kelly and it just keeps getting better. Thanks!

The salmon in Washington states river (Columbia River i think) were 6' long in 1968.

@@Userxyz-z2d They were donated to Michigan in 1973 as fish roe. It is salmo salar (Atlantic salmon) that was closed into Lake Vanern 8000-10000 years ago after the uplift of the land after the last ice age. Sadly, they are highly endangered due to hydropower. The largest caught in Lake Michigan (1981) weighed 32 lb.

You need to go to Alaska and fish the Copper River. Fresh caught wild King Salmon is great, wait until you taste fresh caught wild Sockeye Salmon. Sockeye Salmon is the best tasting fish on the planet, June is the best time of the year to catch them. Thanks a lot for the wonderful video!

I cant tell you how happy I am that youre doing a few videos in Michigan. My home state, but you, robert and everyone else all put the fire in me to move down to Florida and Iv been in heaven here. To see you experience what I grew up doing, just seems so cool, now, as Im learning how to fish the Gulf in my first year as a Floridian.

Love today's Lake Michigan footage as every October at midnight I'd be in Waukegan Harbor at salmon snagging season. They used to have a cat walk like the wall footage from your front captured and brought back lots of memories. Thank you, however I've been in FL last twenty years so no more salmon till I return.

Cool fishing trip. Silvers barrel roll when you get them close to the boat. Kings fight like a Albacore. Once I caught a red sided rainbow, Union Creek, Oregon. Best tasting trout I've ever had for dinner. 😊

Salmon and trout from clean cold water are amazing. I'll take a big fish, throw butter and simple spices in, and just throw it in the oven. The fat makes them hard to mess up unless you go nuts with spice or over cook.

Nice, I remember back in the day down rigging for salmon in Lake Michigan. I caught my biggest Chinook/King salmon in that lake. 18lbs I believe. Enjoy the journey

You know what I love I love Kelly in the morning. I love seeing Kelly's bright eyes and bright face and happy demeanor early in the morning. Kelly the bugs hatch out in the middle of the lake as the lake warms the temperature breaks create a "scumline" which is debris and all kinds of bug larvae. The Steelhead fishing can be nuts!!! Bugs so thick you are breathing them in but imagine Steelhead on the surface over 800 ft of water. When I travel home from the Keys I fish out of Frankfort and Leland Michigan and this fishing is far and away my fave. Great content as usual
