Still on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland 's Outer Hebrides, I visit several parts of the Island to discover more about its history. I visit the Arnol Blackhouse, the Gearrannan Blackhouse Village, the Callanish Standing Stones and end at Bostadh Beach where there is a reconstructed version of an old Iron Age House.

01:07 - Arnol Black House
05:04 - Gearrannan Blackhouse Village
08:16 - Callanish Standing Stones
12:00 Bostadh Beach and Iron Age House
15:12 Still to come...

My apologies for the gusty wind in parts of this video. I've edited the subtitles to be accurate so feel free to turn these on if it helps. Since the Scotland trip, I have invested in a better mic with better wind protection. Curious to know how the Callanish Standing Stones compare to Stonehenge. Still never been and I think its in part because everyone I know who has, has said it's a let down. Have you been and do you think after having visited the stone circle in Lewis, would I be left disappointed?

It really was an amazing holiday. Do you have any plans to visit the Highlands or Islands in the near future?

@@WhenAdventureKnox We almost did in 2019, but ended up doing an Eastern Canada tour instead. Definitely on my "short list"!

@The Kilted Adventurer Ah, but such great cities. I did a working holiday visa and lived/worked in Toronto a decade ago - loved it out there! ❤️

Thank you Autour du mond for your kind words. I wasn't too good at getting additional footage - I think because the heavens keep opening, so wasn't sure if people would like how 'talk heavy' this one is, but your message was lovely to hear!

Thanks Div and Benny ❤️ Though I don't think this one had any from the drone, must just be when I climbed up high onto a hill or something. 🤣

Hi. Please, how have you done the video with the camera switching between you and the landscape while you were still talking? I am searching for tools to do so (absolute beginner). Thanks.

Hi Gabi. I use Adobe Premiere Pro - though admittedly it's not the cheapest software as it's capable of doing so much. There are other video editing software choices on the market that will allow you to do the same thing. You need software that allows you to have multiple 'tracks' or 'layers', so you can have one video on one track, and another on a different track/layer. You see the video on the top layer (just like how if you put 2 pieces of paper on top of one another, you only see the top sheet). I've used Pinnacle Studio and Serif Movie Plus in the past. Both do layers, but Serif has ended their support so any issues that crop up, there's no longer updates being made so I perhaps wouldn't recommend that.

Well shot and well narrated. Too bad, all the many closures...still compelling just the same.

Thank you for such kind comments to the video. It was a huge shame about the closures, but I bet its a lot better now as this was back in 2020.
