Hey travelers, welcome back to our Outer Hebrides series and to our next stop, the Isle of Lewis! In this video we visit the mystical and magical Calanais Standing Stones, The Butt of Lewis and a fascinating Blackhouse Village.
The Isle of Lewis, the most northerly of the Outer Hebrides is a truly dramatic and beautiful place!, There's so much history and magnificent beauty to explore, we had the best time!

I went there before the visitor's centre was built. I camped close to the stones and spent a wonderful evening watching the stones and loch while a shepherd trained a young sheepdog, moving sheep from field to field. Glorious.

@@MacSarah yes we are. That’s how we found your channel which is one we will watch going forward. We have a 3 week trip to the Western Isles starting next week. We were watching to get sone location ideas but we so loved the pace of your videos and admired your photography. 🙏🚐🧙‍♂️

That's where I grew up, Mum from Callanish (that's what the address was) & Dad from Ness. My Granny's house is right beside the stones, me and my brother used to sell Peats to tourists, we were only kids, loved running round the stones. I am now 55 and I feel blessed to have grown up in such a place.

We loved this. The drone shots really showed the geography of the stone circle. Thanks for showing us around this beautiful island. We loved the museum and the whale bone was so cool!! We’d love to visit here one day. We’re now playing catch up on the rest of your Scottish adventures! Cheers 🍻

Are sure you didn’t time travel back to 1955? That’s what the calendar said so it must be true. The shot of the lighthouse with the drone was incredible and the sun came out and it was just magical. Haha Shake what yo’ mama gave ya’. 🤣 We can’t get over the size of the whale bone jaw! You’d think someone would finish of the bridge 🤷‍♀️ Awesome shots and loved the music it was very Ben Howard esque. That sunset was beautiful 🤩 🖤

@@MacSarah Ohh lol. Only bus !! That's another thing about U.K. !! Lol. There are many places where only buses go to !! Lol. And the schedules aren't great ,either !! Lol. They stop serving real early ! If it's in the countryside ,or rual areas ! And many got both trains & buses going there ,but their timings don't match !! 😂😅 So,it is hard to plan & get to those places ,often taxi is only choice after taking trains ...I am not willing to drive in another country where I don't know the traffic rules completely & left & right ...I am very cautious. Although ,I am an excellent driver , I know in an emergency case I'll handle it as I am driving here !! Many years of habits will take over as an instinct !! Lol. Thank you so much !! And you're very welcome !! I really really hope I can !! I fell in love with Scotland because of Loch !! I saw beautiful cottages by the lake in videos on Y.T. !!
