Cool 720p camera that is cheap and has alot of features but some problems with heat and the fact that the SD card must be removed to pull off video for surveillance makes this camera not as good as it could have been.

*We purchased this after moving, and previously had a spotlight **Newest.Technology** cam with solar power. The wired pro cam has much better light (about the same as a bright porch light), and the image is significantly more clear with much better details.*

Having no Ethernet port makes it limited and I am sure there is no such a thing a port forwarding for this one. Is there any way to view the stream of this cam by a PC or Mac? Also is it compatible with third party cellphone softwares such as TinyCam Pro or any other App if you are aware of any?

Yeah that was one of the problems I had with the camera, can only use with its app, it stores video on the SD but you have to eject it and move it over and no way to use it like a web camera. For a non tech that only wants to see live video, its ok.

So you're saying that when it detects motion, it just sends you a message that it detected motion, but you can't live view the video via online stream??

Yes you can set it up to email you when motion is detected. like if you have it in a room, and no one is supposed to be in there. then you can remote into it. with in the app and review the video.

What happens when the SD card runs out of space. Does it record over the old footage or does it just stop recording on the SD card?

yes it over writes the oldest videos first

*EDITED* It WORKS with 256gb A1 Sandisk MicroSD cards give it a try, all of my cards work (64gb, 128gb and 256gb, no I need to remove one from my phone 400gb...will update later).

Ive read a review about this camera that if your phone is connected to a different wifi connected to the camera is that you cant access the camera nor check the live video, is it true? Please help, i need the answer badly, im about to purchase the item. I dont want to waste money, i dont want to take a risk. Thanks

Bryan Orjalesa I was able to access it from outside the network. You have to have an account and it is relaying the video. Through their servers.

You can view on any network. It works for me when I am not at home so I can see in my house when I am away.

So basically if the company goes belly up or decided to charge a few for you to use your cam, it's a brick beyond that.

Why is it considered wireless if it has to remain plugged in to power?

It is just wireless networking for the video signal, you could take one of those battery packs that recharge your phone and make it more portable, but even wireless power has wires also. You can get better cameras for just a little more money. Thanks for the comment

Dont buy! No possibility of making a hard reset. When you give the cam a wifi code, thats the one, and you cant change it.

I agree they have some nice ideas but the camera gets very hot and app is limited and you cant send video to a local PC

iSmart made it originally as a kickstarter campaign and the Xiaomi have licensed to sell them. You'll notice the logo on the back of the Xiaomi camera is the iSmart logo.
