That's a gross micharacterisation. There's ONE document which says that she "allegedly" had a photo of Ribbentrop that she kept on her desk while in exile in the Bahamas, the document itself is a "report" of hearsay because the author doesn't even say that THEY ever saw the photo and nothing more than what is already known from the Marburg Files which again provide nothing but official Nazi documents saying the EXACT OPPOSITE in that both of them were not co-operative at all and were nothing more than "conciliatory to be polite" As best I can find there is only one book that came out quite recently that tries to allude to any connection between Wallis Simpson and German Intelligence and even then it does it very badly, with her just being said to be "known to German intelligence" and a supposition that maybe the Germans had a spy in the Bahamas who she left dead drops for, again unsourced and with no evidence to suggest any such activity happened OR that the Germans even had a spy in the Bahamas (given they didn't have a working network in the much easier to access and hide in UK mainland this seems incredibly unlikely) unless you think that Wallis Simpson was visiting the German Consulate in the Bahamas herself (even after they burned all their files the day war was declared because every Embassy and Consulate knows that the second war is declared the host nation can just send the Police or Army in and take everything that is in there and arrest or kill everyone inside) then I'm not sure what would be happening, perhaps you think the Abwehr did a long winded route of sending an Officer through various neutral countries in order to arrive undercover in the Bahamas to.... talk to Wallis Simpson.... because..... 🤷 I've no idea as such an expensive and time consuming operation wouldn't make sense for someone who held no authority, no position that would really have any access to valuable secrets AND has been exiled to the Bahamas specifically because it was out of the way where they couldn't be of any use to anyone. @@cobaltcorsair592 Not even slightly, as my comment above shows, Edward was a British spy, he resisted coercive attempts by the Nazis, their own secret files noted that he wouldn't betray his country and serve as a puppet King for them, they even tried to KIDNAP him and Wallis and failed. He went on one tour of Nazi Germany pre War because that's what diplomats do, they go to countries, they try to build positive relations, he went in 1937 when there was still a hope that WW1 had taught everyone a lesson and that working with Germany could prevent another costly war, plenty of other diplomats from other countries also visited Nazi Germany, they weren't "all basically Nazis" he just had the misfortune of being in France when the Blitzkrieg got to Paris...
