Verlinden probably dehydrated himself and as soon as he weighed in, he probably started drinking a load of water and eating alot of food. Making him heavier the next day. Pro fighters can lose up to 30lbs in a week, it's mental. But it's also very unhealthy, and I personally consider it cheating.

Dutch Kickboxing is ahead of its time. Most great kickboxers were mostly Dutch or Dutch Moroccans (K-1 and GLORY). MMA is simply just not popular here so people pick up kickboxing as the main fighting sport. That’s why the kickboxing leaderboards are full of Dutch people while there are barely any dutch fighters in high division MMA organisations such as UFC/Bellator/OneFC aside maybe (currently) Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the UFC and Melvin Manhoef in Bellator
