It was a win, the KO was decent, wasn’t even that big of a shot. What was so great about that win? Give a guy enough chances and he should win eventually. One of the most memorable moments, not really. Conor becoming first double champ in history, flatlining Jose, falling dead in like 20 seconds is memories for me. Israel won but it was aight nothing spectacular.

A lot of people argue that part of that makes GSP the GOAT is his losses against Hughes and Serra and then defeating them in the rematches. It showed that he had the ability to overcome adversity and setbacks. Izzy's ability to come back after losing not once, not twice, but *three* times to Pereira and knock him out to reclaim his title elevates his stature above what it would have been if he'd beaten Pereira in a decision win in their first UFC fight.

Now you're talking. This is a case where someone's over the top star entertainment quality gets in the way a bit of their accomplishments. This was a special moment. Alex Pereira is the best thing to ever happen to Israel in terms of an opponent in the same way Conor was for Khabib. I think these two pushed Israel and Khabib to new levels they may've not reached otherwise. The headspace Israel was in and setting a trap and springing it with that level of conviction takes courage. His goal was not to win but to knock unconscious Alex Pereira and he did. I disagree with Chael on one thing. This is not done and there is not a limit on how many times these guys should fight. If and when Izzy goes up to 205 that will be an amazing fight. For now it's good.

That is so true about getting credit after one dies. A lot of authors and artists are like that. One of my favorite books, the author couldn't get it published and killed himself, and his mom convinced someone to publish it after and it got recognition. It's a really funny book imo

Alex is my current favorite fighter, I don’t like Izzy. But that was a great win, I do think Alex wins 30 out of 50 fights between the two, However MMA is a spot about the NOW, and Izzy won when everything was on the line. I have to respect that

Brother Chael, has there EVER been a fighter to come back a win the fourth fight after three loses to the same person in a row though? Somewhat historical, I feel.

To come back and face someone who’s already beaten you 3 times is amazing. Knocked you out cold twice. People made memes about you laughing. Then not only beat him but KO his ass is what makes him a Competitor and a true Champion. He’s a warrior with a true belief in himself and his team. Chael P is correct. The sport is better with him as a face of the division.

@@Surtac100 What you mean not great??? Have u not seen all the previous fights? Alex was also very very lucky in all occations of the fights. first fight izzy clearly won but robbed, 2nd fight saved by a 10count from ref before the ko , 3rd fight saved by the bell after the first round. Izzy was always shy of a win, but them stars did not align sooner. Thats why this fight was so frustrating and entertaining. was never dull moment.

No as big as other fights. Izzy almost beat him via KO or decision in the previous fight. Not a surprise he won this time. Izzy has a high fight IQ. Weidmen Koing Silva was way bigger. Nate beating Conor too.

Yeah exactly, i just dont like the 180 turn the meatriding all these clown ass bandwagoning "fans" do online, first its jocking alex when he won, and then immediately when izzy won they tried burying alex calling him a scrub and saying "HES NOT WORTHY TO FIGHT IZZY AGAIN! HES OLD HES DONE HE SUCKS!" Cause its a coin toss who would win that match anyway, total clown behavior, but ive come to expect it.

Most NBA record books start after Wilt. Because if you don't, most of the top 10s are all just him. A bunch of records were broken in the NBA this year. All significant in their own right, don't get me wrong. But a couple of Wilt's were. And those things stood for nearly 60 years.

It's the saddest for me. I've never felt so devastated after watching a fighter I love loose. Adesanya has not rubbed off well on me I see a boy trying to impress everyone. The win gives him a green light to be cringe asf again.
