You mentioned Chesed and Canaan as brothers, but based on my understanding of the genealogy in Genesis, Chesed was not listed as one of the sons of Nahor. Pastor, if we are teaching from an academic perspective, then we must keep in mind that to be a Jew in a modern construct is one of a social mode. As it is, "Jew" today, then, has been mistranslated to substitute a convert, proselyte, practitioner of Judaism, or at the very least one whose ancestors adhered to that religion to be genetically of Judah. In reality, most of the people who believe that they are related directly to Abraham are really just socio-cultrually connected to the religion of Judaism. The 4th century AD painting of Christ found in Rome shows him clearly as a black-skinned man. Furthermore, the 5th century AD painting of the prophet Isiah, found in the Roman catacombs, clearly shows him as a black man, while the Greek woman is shown in the same painting as white. By the way, there is an Ethiopian priest in the same painting, and he and Isiah are of the same skin color. In reality, from the time of the Old Testament, Judaism has been spread throughout the known world. People of different groups who were not genetically Hebrew converted to that religion. They then, in turn, have passed on its practice to their children. The widespread practice of Judaism from all the nations of that time can be found in the Book of Acts. The fact of the matter is that those light-skinned people who now occupy Jerusalem are, for the most part, converts, with some being opportunistic Zionist, from a movement started in the early days of modern Britain. We must stop trying to skirt around the origin of the white Jew when Biblical and World History provides enough truth above man's interpretation about who an ancient historical Jew is. The word Jew indeed comes from Judah, and Judah was not "white" in the white supremacists' sense of things. If you are going to keep blending Biblical and historical contructs that include identifying who Hebrews, Israelites, and the people of Judah were/are, then if you haven't, please read the following: HEBREWISMS OF WEST AFRICA by Joseph J. There are many other books but you will find that these will quickly broaden your academic perspective on the subject of the people of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and the scholarly games that have been played to make them "white" at all cost.
