STORYLINE:
The Israeli military raided the Nur Shams refugee camp in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem on Tuesday, as violence rages in the Israeli-occupied territory.
The army said it was conducting counter terrorism operations in the city, but did not elaborate on its operations.
Israeli army bulldozers were seen inside the camp, where explosions were also heard.
Since the Israel-Hamas war erupted on Oct. 7., the camp has emerged as a major flashpoint and is one of several areas where Palestinian militant groups are openly active.
Israeli forces regularly raid the camp and exchange fire with militant groups, including Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
The Palestinian Authority, which governs urban pockets of the West Bank, has a limited foothold in the north of the territory.
