Yes, I agree - Destiny (Steven) says it like he sees it and does not avoid nuanced conversations. It is great that he came to Hebron and we worked hard all day speaking with many people. This video is just a brief view into his time in Israel. It is not intended to be a debate or a gotcha - it is a serious exchange of ideas. He will post more on his channel.

Yeah. One has in depth knowledge and lives the real narrative every day (Yishai), while the other parachutes in for 2 weeks and says that as an American he doesn't really care how things turn out as long as both sides accept whatever outcome results (Destiny). He is still shallow-minded on this subject, working on the level of Grievances and not on a deeper level of legal rights (that in this case has been established for 100 years in favor the Jewish People), which the Arabs refuse to honor and respect and instead chose and prefer violence and Genocide and the false "Glory" it gives them. Get real. This is not about "Oppressor and oppressed". This is about Criminal-Perpetrators (Muslims) and Victims (Jews). Stop killing Jews and stop taking Jews hostage.

The Belfour declaration was not a legally binding anything, but a public statement, which the British have since regretted because it did not do enough to protect the Palestinians rights. I mean the Brits, played both sides for thier own benefit. Turks didn't grant rights, the Allies by agreement at Versal ile, took the land, and the UK imperialists were happy to oblige. @@royboy4571 You're right that Balfour wasn't legally binding i misspoke there, i meant that it was a legal document through which the British had bound themselves to supporting the Jewish homeland. But other than that let's see McMahon told Hussein that he could have an independent Arab state in whatever borders he proposes but also mentioned that portions of Syria and west of it should be excluded from those proposed borders. In case you're not aware, the whole of Palestine was part of Syria Vilayet at that time. The Treaty of Versailles concerned Germany, Turkey signed two different treaties, the Treaty of Sevres which was not ratified and the Treaty of Lausanne which was. Also the League of Nations covenant, article 20, also approved of granting the British their mandate as the region was severely underdeveloped.

What is a terrorist? Was Patricia Hearst a terrorist when she was indoctrinated by the SLA? I understand she was de-indoctrinated later but the point is when “ordinary citizens” are committing atrocities, it doesn’t really matter why they are doing what they are doing when the results are the same. Right now in this moment, Israel has one responsibility to her people and that is to eliminate Hamas. Maybe later when Hamas is gone & the tentacles of Iran are severed, a de-indoctrination process can start.

@11:30 While that could have worked, unfortunately it took just 2 days of water and electricity being provided by Israel to be shut off for the screams of famine, collective punishment, genocide and whatever else to start circulating the world. By then the international pressure was already huge and any further movement by Israel like that would have had massive long term consequences of how Israel is interacted with on the global stage, the US included. Furthermore, actions like that would have made the hostages seem like a secondary goal for the war, and back then there were still hopes for legitimate exchanges to return them home. The pressure to reduce Israel's actions combined with the unknown state of the hostages made the "hard and fast" take on the war impossible, regardless of whether the international community actually knew how to deal with Hamas or not. Now we're stuck at this terrible position where we have to go door to door and sacrifice soldiers for the sake of keeping the international community happy.

You live by the sword you die by the sword. The reason why international dissent is such a big issue for Israel is because of it's own making. 17:28 you just described the analog version of what the internet does… life in Israel and Palestine. People living in a bubble that keep telling themselves “those people” over there are evil. I would only add that Israeli action over decades has given a lot of justification for Palestinian sentiments and that Palestinian radicalization requires someone to radicalize them. As much as Israelis like to paint the picture of Palestinians being naturally violent, Destiny makes the tremendous point of how educated Palestinians actually are (or rather were before all of their schools and universities were blown up). His takeaway from his trip so far is largely the humanity of the Palestinian people, a humanity I wish more of Israeli society could share at this depressing time. If anything for the sake of Israelis themselves.

And have you seen any of the schooling and textbooks that the kids use, that make them so literate? Thanks!

@@skontheroad I’ve unfortunately seen much of the video documentation on both sides. The indiscriminate killing by members of Hamas and other Palestinian groups was very difficult to witness. Because I have a heart and it feels this thing called feelings. Emotions. It cannot but help care about the helpless lsraeli lives that were lost and the terror they must have felt in those moments. But my heart doesn’t simply cease to feel the same way when I see the ruthless destruction and disintegration of Palestinian people by the state terror being brought down on them for the last 8 months and the many years before that. I know of the bias and hatred that some Palestinians teach their children, I am not surprised. You would do the same if you had a group of people putting the heel of their boot literally and figuratively on your neck for decades. Not to mention, Israelis teach their children the most horrible things about “those Arabs” over there. It is evident in what comes out of their children’s mouths, theirs politicians statements, their soldier’s tik tok videos and on and on. It is widespread and it is despicable. We must be able to see it all call it out on both sides. Being tribal and excusing your own parties shortcomings only reflects your inability to employ critical thinking. So please, tell me what you know about Israeli education. Tell me what the world should interpret of what they are just learning now but people who have been aware have known for years… the extremely racist attitude that has led to the dehumanization of the Palestinian people for decades. Destiny's answer is an irresponsible childish deflection and a scam. He is operating on the shallow level of sorting out grievances and not on the deeper, honest level, of analyzing the competing legal rights of the disputants and supporting, like a grown up, the side that has the greater legal merit; in this case the Jewish People. This was all legally sorted out 100 years ago, but the Arabs refuse to respect the legal rulings. Study the San Remo conference 4-25-1920, the Anglo-American Treaty 1925, the League of nations Mandate for Palestine-Israel, the UN Trusteeship for Palestine-Israel, the recognition of the State of Israel by both the US and the USSR, the re-possession of Arab-occupied sovereign and intended-sovereign Jewish territories by Israel in the June 1967, etc.

I don't really care much about this conflict, it doesn't affect me either, but I like learning about it. In the beginning of the video Yishai seems like skeptical of the view that Israel is the big bad guy and Palestine the victim, and he asks Destiny about optics, how could Israel make it so they look better? But later on, he says he would have ended the conflict in 2 weeks, just turn off the water, the supply, the food, etc. That tells me that Israel has the control and the 'gun' here, which is in accordance with public perception. I know things might be deeper and there's more things to analyze, but this is really telling on what's going on.

As we shouldn't have to explain, no other country is expected to provide basic necessities to the people it's at war with, you cannot attack the country that provides your basic necessities and be upset that they don't want to aid you anymore, Israel shouldn't have to provide Gaza with anything since that's the job of their elected government which is Hamas, and Hamas decided to spend time, money, and energy on rockets and tunnels instead of providing basic necessities.

"It is known among the villagers around Hebron that the people of Yata were originally Jewish. Moreover, the meaning of the clan’s name-Mukhammara-comes from the Arabic root KH-M-R, which means “wine.” Thus, the clan name means either “winemakers” or people having some connection to wine. As is well known, having anything to do with wine is a major sin to Muslims. In that context, today’s Mukhammara clan members, as good Muslims, almost assuredly would have nothing to do with wine. But their Jewish ancestors clearly did-hence the name of their clan. Even more interestingly, it is common knowledge among the locals in the Hebron area that after the 1967 Six-Day War when Israel took control over Judea and Samaria, heads the above-mentioned clan and other clans in the area, even some living in the city of Hebron itself, went to then-Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Dayan-who was in charge of the newly acquired territories-and asked him to help them return to Judaism. Dayan rebuffed them." -JNS

Agreed. Why of all the war refugees, the world over, are Gazan refugees blocked, by Egypt and the US, from fleeing the war zone of Gaza? Syrian refugees go to Turkey; Ukrainian refugees go to Poland. By the millions. Instead of spending hundreds of millions to install a flimsy pier, the money could have been used to establish a refugee camp in Sinai under international and UN auspices, and the Gaza refugees would be then be safe.
@sandytatham3592

@@joesilver4376: Exactly. This is what I've been saying too! Egypt could easily have permitted the international community to set up a 'secured' humanitarian camp just inside Sinai for babies, children, mothers of small children, pregnant women, the very sick and elderly to be cared for there. Hardly anyone talks about this, so thank you. The main complaint by Egyptians to me is that Israel won't let them return to Gaza, and maybe there is some risk. But keeping vulnerable people TRAPPED in a war zone is despicable, and against international law. The Egyptians seem to support the war strategy of Hamas which is to use the human death toll as negative publicity for Israel. A large number of Gazans are from Egyptian families who moved to Gaza during the 1948-1967 Egyptian occupation, so it's doubly awful that they want to use them as cannon-fodder in this way...🙄

The goal of the Muslim Brotherhood is to restore the Caliphate. H*amas states that it wants Jerusalem as the capital of their restored Caliphate. Destiny has been making the Islamic unity is a myth argument recently in multiple videos but misses the point that unity doesn’t exclusively mean ‘active and physical participation’. Sports fans aren’t involved physically on the field by playing the game but without support people tend to lose their morale and motivation significantly quicker. Seeing hundreds of thousands of people world wide defend what you did on October 7th unites and empowers you. Wars have been instigated by people who weren’t actively involved in those wars. Calling it a myth is a pretty reductionist take.

Idk, I feel like Afghanistan is one of the best supporting arguments for what he's saying, it's a state that has multiple different competing Islamic factions that are all doing their best to kill the other, supported by outside Islamic interests. The state is surrounded by other Islamic states that are all probably going to be going to war with it in a few years due to geographic and other issues in the region. If Islam was really a monolith, I don't think you'd see it fractured to the extent it is today.

My point isn’t to say the Islamic world is completely in tact and united and forms this perfect, synchronized front to destroy the state of Israel. All I’m saying is that calling Islamic unity (at all) a myth because they’re usually not fighting the same wars anymore is taking it a bridge too far. American soldiers aren’t currently fighting in Gaza and dying for Israel by the dozens but would you call the unity between Israel and the US a myth?
