Israel's Gaza-Area Farmers Touched by American Volunteers with 'Big Hearts'

MOSHAV DEKEL, Israel - One group feeling a major impact from the October 7th Hamas attack is Israeli farmers.
While locals have jumped in to help, it's not been enough. However, some American farmers have stepped up to the plow to bring much-needed skills to the fields.
Here on Moshav Dekel near Gaza, war prevented farmers from harvesting an eggplant crop.
Author Doug Hershey saw a need in the fields of the south.

My eldest grandson And I were at the airport on our way to Israel the day they closed the borders for covid. It was Very disappointing. He already had his Air force boot camp start date- He is still soldiering- I live off of my retirement now but I worked in greenhouses for years- I'd be glad to come to Israel To pick strawberries & eggplants or plant seeds seedlings cuttings or bare roots- But someone else has to pay my air fare and provide a cot for me to sleep in And a little coffee and bread to tide me through the day. I'm sure there are many others who would do exactly the same for our jewish brothers and sisters- Any Generous Hearted souls out there out there Feeling me? pray on it- im here
