And keep in mind there was a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas up until Oct. 7, that had lasted for nearly a year.

I rewatched and did mishear about the dates. I know Hamaa does take soldiers and will Kill then and take their bodies,but I have seen other parents saying their teens were taken through out the years. I can remember their names now, but they were killed. I feel like there was a ceasefire on Israel’s side but not for Hamas if they were bombing Israel. I have also heard just random citizens saying when they were in big crowds they worry about suicide bombers or someone opening fire.

@@joanmikeska8484 There can't have been any missiles fired by Hamas while the ceasefire was in effect, as that would have ended it and Israel would presumably have retaliated. I read that the ceasefire had been in effect for almost a year by Oct. 7th, which would mean there had been no missiles or any other kinds of attacks from Gaza for almost a year. That alone would have lulled the Israelis - at least the civilians - into a false sense of security, because most of the time since 2006 these rocket attacks were an almost constant thing. No previous ceasefire agreement had ever lasted that long. But it still doesn't excuse the government and the IDF being asleep at the wheel.

Or ignoring the warning from Egypt that something was going to happen in the next few days, or dismissing their own security saying the same thing and then reducing or standing down security in the most volatile areas 🤔🙄🤨

@@KathyPrendergast-cu5ci I was talking about the ceasefire they had when they were getting hostages out for those 10 days or how ever long it was until Hamas started not giving back hostages and playing games. They broke that ceasefire quite a few times, I heard about a dozen, but Israel looked away and ignored it because they were trying to get as many hostages as possible out. I saw several reporters talking about it but they could have been lying I guess or I could have misunderstood. I don’t live there so I don’t know every single thing. I feel like Israel has let so much slide from Hamas.
