This episode needs to be re-created with the correct flags... and without Iran as an Arab state!!!

Thank you Emil. There are often hundreds of edits and revisions just to the maps and some things unfortunately simply get missed. That label was meant to only have the state name on it and likely did at some point. With thousands of revisions to each of the videos there is just no avoiding the fact that not everything gets caught. Very much appreciate you pointing that out. It was never the intention of the series to present Iran as an Arab state which as you correctly noted, it is not. With regard to the flags -the flags that were used in this video were researched based on the flags of the actual time period, not the flags currently used by the various nation states. So the national flags in the animations may not be the same as they are currently. Very much appreciate your feedback.

I like your videos very much, but I like to point out an important issue which initiated the Yom Kippur war and peace between Israel and Egypt. While Nasser was a socialistic leader and hung up with the Russians, Sadat was liberial and wanted his country to turn from socialistic to capitalistic. In order to make Egypt attractive for investors he had to take care of the one instability in the area; the hostilities with Israel. He couldn't make peace at once, even if he wanted to. He couldn't sell it to the Egyptian public nor his Arab brethren. So he had no choice then to go to war. Even though they finally lost, the Egyptians gave enough blows to Israel to claim some kind of victory. As a matter of fact, they still celebrate the 73 victory over Israel. So after the war he could make peace, without losing his face, while stabilizing the situation and making his country attractive for investors....

So, the Arab nations agreed to Israel's terms, and STILL Israel refused to honour those terms. It's all about what Israel's "enemies" did. And doesn't address what Israel was legally REQUIRED to do under International Law, UN resolution 242 and the Geneva Convention and didn't. A moral argument on Israel's side versus a LEGAL argument on the side of what the rest of the world agreed with also. At this point, if Israel had done what it was bound legally to do, there'd have been no war over the Sinai. And there'd have been peace, and an Israeli state and a Palestinian state. But Israel didn't want peace. It wasn't happy with what it had. It wanted MORE land. It didn't act like a normal, law abiding state. It acted like a rogue state, ignoring world opinion and all known legal bodies with jurisdiction.

Evan Roberts Israel didn't agree with what the Arabs defined as acceptance. Israel wanted the guarantee before they left the Sinai and the Golan. This, tactically, makes sense. The Sinai is a useful barrier to any invasion and so is the Golan, to give them back to Egypt and Syria without assurances would not be a wise move for Israel. The Arabs also committed their fair share of rogueness. Blockading Eilat and basically forcing a war with the Israelis isn't an action taken if war is to be avoided. The Israelis even abided by the UN resolution once the Camp David accords had been settled, suggesting they were willing to submit to the UN. Syria has yet to abide by its side of the UN resolution so why should Israel?

resqwec "Wiseness" has NOTHING to do with legalities. It's fucking "wise" if i beat up every cunt that i think's a threat. Doesn't make it legal. And wtf do you mention UN resolutions and Camp David for? Syria has NOTHING to do with either, and weren't even represented at Camp David. Seriously. Less Hasbara propaganda, more research.

And with the blocking of the Straits, Nasser SAID he'd blocked them. Israel didn't try to pass ONE ship through it. It was literally what Israel wanted, a casus belli. An EXCUSE to attack Nasser, while fully HALF his armed forces were involved in a civil war in Yemen.

Israel bleats and barks about its security, but will NOT guarantee the security of any neighbouring country. It has NEVER accepted or recognized a Palestinian state, yet DEMANDS recognition of itself with a RIGHT to exist. NO state/country has a RIGHT to exist.

Evan Roberts but Israel knew he’d blocked the straights and so why on earth would they send ships through the blockade. Plus it wasn’t just Nasser, all Arab states bordering Israel threatened Israel militarily in 1967. Israel’s measure was justified because of the threat it was under
