The level of FOMO is astronomical. Thank you so much for sharing. If you like romantic comedy, I wrote a book series Queen Bee and the Turk: Take 1 (first book came out in March) and the last in the series takes place in Istanbul. I will use your videos as a research until I go there myself, which I can't wait to do! I felt full just watching.

Actually, the proper name (apart from arugala) is "roka". I think it was lost in translation and "roka" became rocket.

Your kid didn't like the olive, instead of throwing it away, he put it nicely on the ground. I still remember he described the fried banana in KL as creamy, good tastebud, I bet he would say the same if he tastes the baked potato in Turkey.

Aww, I really want to return to Istanbul! Looks like a great tour, and you had great weather (October?) . This reminded me of another Istanbul video. Are you familiar with South Korean personality. Chef Paik? He returned to Istanbul and one of his first stops was for kaymak, along with other items. Kaymak is a famous food unique to our Afyon province. But the most important thing that makes it famous is that it is made from buffalo milk. Kaymak made from cow's milk is not as good as Kaymak made from buffalo milk. The promotion of Kaymak by someone of Arab origin in Korea first made Kaymak famous in Korea, and then brought the famous Korean chef to Turkiye. In fact, we have many foods and dishes that we have been making for hundreds of years, but many countries and people are just becoming aware of this. While some of them are stolen, some continue to be made under different names and production methods.

At 10.31 your guide translates "içli köfte" as sensitive meatballs. İndeed the translation should have been "stuffed meatballs" since the inside of the meatballs is stuffed with minced meat. I'm assuming he just nods to your saying it "sensitive meatballs" first. Otherwise it would have been a horrible translation. Because interestingly the word "içli" can be translated both ways as sensitive or stuffed.

Bence içli köfte ismi baştan aşağıya yanlış. Bi kere köfte dediğimiz malzemeler kıyma vs ne varsa o karışım yani köftenin kendisi içerde dışındaysa kaplama var. Sonuçta köftenin içinde birşey yok dışında var. O zaman adı neden dışlı köfte değil. İçli DEDİĞİMİZ zaman içinde olması lazım. Ama aslında köftenin haricinde olan malzeme dışında. İsim baştan yanlış koyulmuş. Hele sensitive diye çevrilmesi daha yanlış. Ne demek alıngan hassas köfte. Stuffed falan de ne biliyim. Kaplamalı köfte de. Yok ağlayan köfte duygusal köfte de. İşte böyleyim. Aşırı realistik fazla materyalist ve duygusuz bir kütüğüm. Yapacak Bi şey yok. Onun adı dışlı köfte olmalı. Kib. Bye.
