Another great video. I live in Kadikoy and love it here. Yes it's a bit far from the historic sites but we can jump on a ferry and be in those areas fairly quickly. Plus riding the ferry is a fun experience too. We like to say the Asian side of Istanbul is where people live and the European side is for tourists. Regardless, Istanbul is a great place to live. Hope to run into you somewhere in Istanbul.

Our pleasure Renee! It definitely can get noisy, but it really depends on the specific area/street. Karakoy and Kadikoy have the same issues with noise in specific parts... for example once nightly curfew restrictions are lifted, we personally will be looking to stay as far away from the bar street as possible haha! Is the Airbnb well reviewed and/or does it have any comments regarding noise issues?

Very important warnings for those who will continue to travel to Turkey throughout the year and are considering renting a house from Airbnb. Within the scope of the new Law in Turkey; Renting a house from Airbnb for a period of less than 100 days has been included in the scope of 'Residential Rental for Tourism Purposes'. Tourists expect imprisonment and fines. Don't let your summer holiday be ruined. If the house is intended for tourism and is a residential flat, all flat owners in the same building must agree to obtain a permit. It will be mandatory to submit the receipt to the Ministry. In summer sites, if a person does not copy and complains about you, you will be imprisoned as a family. An administrative fine of 500 thousand Turkish Liras will be imposed on those who continue their rental activities for tourism purposes without obtaining a permit. For the person who rents a summer event from Airbnb and lives there. A fine of €5,678 and 12 days in prison may be imposed.

We prefer Airbnbs because we don't travel as a vacation, we travel as a lifestyle, but we understand why people would prefer hotels. For short stays, hotels are way better because of the amenities they offer.

Exactly agreed, with my parents for 3 nights we stayed in a hotel in the Old Town because it was just easier for them. You can definitely miss out on the local culture though by getting stuck in the hotel and not exploring like you have to in an Airbnb.

Hi there, It will be great if u can recommend which airbnb a family wity baby should choose/recommended. Am going there in feb 2023 but still not sure if i hv chosen the right one. Need to know if it is convenient to walk with stroller, how far to go to nearest train station, is it hilly area and good neighbourhood. Not many detail we can get from review and sometimes we overlooked some bad review among hundreds good review which may have significant impact to family visitor like myself. A good review and video may helps. Thanks

Thanks so much for watching 🙏 Istanbul is a very hilly city in general and not every train station has the best accommodation for the disabled or someone with a stroller. They have been improving the stations with elevators and escalators but it's still a work in progress for some of the lines. We would suggest you to stay in Kadikoy and use the ferry to everywhere you need to go. Ferry with a stroller is a better option than a train station. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Hi there not sure if you still see questions asked . I’m going Istanbul for the first time for about 3-4 days . I would prefer to stay in a hotel . Near historical sights but also near lots of cafes and restaurants and places easy to commute from. Is there any particular place you would recommend ( area ) thank you 🙏🏽

How does the cleaning happen at AirBnb? What is the frequency of cleaning if some hosts provide cleaning? Say, if I stay for two weeks? No cleaning?
@TravelInteresante
@TravelInteresante 3 жыл бұрын
If you are renting for a long time, say for a week or month, they dont come and clean your AirBnb place. The cleaning fee is cut based on the length of the stay and is only done before and after your stay unfortunately.

@TravelInteresante
@TravelInteresante 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marika, hope you have a great time, its a beautiful country! For a first time visit, depending upon your budget, it probably makes sense to stay in Old Town (Sultanahmet) for a few days to easily see all the historical sites. There is a tram that can take you from central old town to a ferry stop to cross from Europe to Asia as well. If you're staying longer you can then switch to Nisantasi or Besiktas for a different feel of the European side, or Kadikoy on the asian side.

Hi Carlos, we give an idea about cost in the video, it really will vary depending upon which neighborhood you want to stay in and some other factors (3 vs. 5 star hotel). Overall airbnb's will be more cost effective.

Kadıkoy is a barren area that offers nothing but bars and cafes that offer the opportunity to hang out for young people living on the Anatolian side of the city. It may not be bad for a person who will spend a limited time such as ten days or two weeks in Istanbul to spare maybe 1 day. Actually, you'll be already found better bars and cafes in European Side when you'll think about going Kadıkıy. Galata, Beyoğlu, and then historical Istanbul, the old city area can be preferred for accommodation. It doesn't seem wise to me to compare an Istanbul that was the capital of empires such as Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman and carries the legacy of 3000 years with an average neighborhood that has become popular since the 1990s.
@TravelInteresante
@TravelInteresante 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Zalim Adam 😅 definitely hear you and agree that there are such nice bars and cafes on the European side, actually nightlife in Europe is better! However this video is made to suggest where to stay, not where to visit and the ferry rides for transportation in Istanbul is priceless. Thanks so much for watching and have a great day! 🤗

Deciding between a hotel and Airbnb can be tough, but breakfast included at a hotel is a huge perk in my opinion, especially a Turkish breakfast 😀 That is a great tip about calling the hotels directly, it is so common to book online through 3rd parties that picking up the phone and calling can easily be forgotten. Great tips guys!
