Yeah, for some reason many Americans have a difficult time distinguishing between the two nations. Which is kind of weird seeing how they are completely different except for the fact they also speak English. Also one has a giant dragon on their flag and the other doesn’t! And the excuse, oh but they play in the English league can’t be used. After all, Many Canadian and American teams play in the same league, in NHL, Basketball and MLB.

@@WalesTheTrueBritons Not really that weird. Most people outside of N.Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England refer to that area as the UK or Great Britain. Since you lot are all ruled by the same government, its really not that weird people outside of the UK get confused. Just be done with it and just all call yourself English.

The worst analysis of this so far. The reason why Wrexham resonates, is the same reason why Seattle resonates, Toronto resonates, Minnesota resonates. People like local identity, working class throwbacks to belonging to their city to their club. What apple is trying to do is strip mine that from the fans, and the fans have always rejected it. If you look at the most well-supported clubs around the world, they mostly do not come from the fashionable areas, but make the areas fashionable. Plus this is not in the heart of England, it's Wales, and the owners are not light because they're from the US, actually Reynolds is the lovable Canadian, but the owners are lovable for their attitude towards that loyal hometown aspirational feeling.

I personally don’t care about Wrexham but clearly they’ve tapped into something unique. Sports coverage doesn’t always have to obsess over the top leagues, storylines are what matter

This WAFC storyline is doesn’t exist without a pro/rel system. If MLS wants to develop more emotionally charged story telling it needs to adopted pro/rel system.

British football fans are intrigued by what's happening in Wrexham, at least for now. As soon as their success grows and it starts to impact on the teams they support that intrigue will turn to envy and hate and those feelings will be made clear on the terraces, Wrexham will see that during this next season in league 2

The Apple deal is not broadening the appeal like those shows. A prospective soccer fan is not going to buy another subscription to watch MLS games. They will want to watch EPL games and probably already have the cable channels necessary.

I really don’t get his take I understand it from the whole wrexham outlook but trying to compare that to why Apple deal with MLS is good I don’t see it…Apple with the MLS tv rights now make it harder for an average fan to tune in…you don’t get any matches just from a Apple TV you have to have Apple TV and get the mls pass added…only benefit is STH get free pass…that’s it won’t get a random sports fan to actually watch because financial investment would be needed to get to that point…literally does the opposite of what he’s claiming takes away any opportunity for an average fan to catch a game.
