Here in Germany you don't find the S210 wagons in such a good condition anymore. Most of them are rusted away. From this point of view, I really would love to see you fixing it and bringing it back on the road.

If you want to keep the car then jerry rig a pull out of the damaged metal using an engine hoist, heat and a hammer to tap out the damaged metal while lifting that part upwards to a point the fender will sit correctly. It may also staighten the radiator support somewhat at the point the front fender attaches. It is an over all nice/cheap car and an A to B get parts with vehicle.

I think you’re right, this car was saved from a pull-a-part yard where they put on a new side window and they didn’t clean very well the inside from the broken glass. Anyway do some backyard engineering, pull it and hammer it back in shape and slap a "new" junkyard fender/hood/bumper/headlight on it. That apron isn’t critical as a frame rail so I wouldn’t worry too much about it if I have to use the car myself. In case of selling just disclose the damage.

Mike, you should definitely try to fix it. You need to strip the other side down for a comparison. You've got the tools. At the end of the day it is just bent metal that needs straightening out. It can be done. I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

Just reading the comments, and I totally agree. Everyone is saying she's a keeper Mike!! Maybe Santa could be a help with the frame, take some good pics and a video and send them to him, get his opinion. You really need to get underneath her and see if there's other hidden damage though.

Save. Not sure whether its practical for you to do so, but what would be personally gratifying for me would be to see you cut, or have someone cut that whole inner section off a junkyard wagon. You could then, in theory, drill out all the weld points of the damaged section on this wagon, extract the entire section and attempt to spot weld its replacement to the appropriate bits. Probably asking a bit much there. Get a replacement fender and other bits. Have MAACO or someone equally cheap paint the replacement fender to match.

Even if the damages too much you could strip it for parts and make your money back you would easily double your money on the parts for the interior but if you can fix it cheap enough to put it back on the road it'll be a lovely car and you could call it scrappy which I think would be a good name for this vehicle thank you from classical bikes

Mike... I've got an '05 W211 E320 wagon/estate too (the later version of your '02 W210). I spend too much to keep it on the road, but I took it to my son's destination wedding last summer as part of a 3,000 mile road trip. These are some of the very best cars ever built! Save. Should be an easy fix once you strip the parts off. If you change your mind once it's stripped then take it to a body shop just to straighten it out. Shouldn't cost to much. But before starting this process look up the door, fender bumper to see if they are readily available in that colour and cost. Name. Obviously Lucy. Lucy in the sky with diamonds (glass inside)

While applying upward pressure on that corner, heat the metal with a propane torch and push the metal inward. Definitely worth fixing with a little effort. If I were in Oklahoma we could do it in one afternoon.

Mike you can’t make the car any worse attempting to fix it yourself. I respect that you’re considering giving it a go. It was already totaled and there’s well into the thousands in parts if you stripped and sold it off. Before you buy any parts and possibly burn that cash I think you should take the bumper, pass headlamp and fender off then use the other side for symmetry to straighten the inner fender. If you can get it to measure up decently close to the other side, cut off and replace the upper radiator support and go from there.

Beautiful car ! Fix but do it correctly. Pull off the broken parts to where all of them are removed and do a proper cut and replace of the unibody parts so that the next owner has a properly repaired car. These wagons are harder and harder to find in that condition. The dead mouse is gross and offensive a turn off in an otherwise great video

Would love to see you or a frame shop only pull out and straighten the damage and you put it all back together. The color combo is fantastic. Remember to check the coolant and oil level Mike.

Mike, Mike, Mike. In the 80s in high school I pulled my frame rail straight using a manual winch from harbor freight and a cable wrapped around the column between my mom's garage doors! She's already got a salvage title so the boneyard is just going to rob you for it anyway. So fix her up. Also, I have a 96 E320 diesel in the fleet with 226k she's like a comfortable old pair of shoes but gets 34mpg and 700 miles per tank. And her name is BERTA. I leave her sitting for 6 months on a battery tender and she always fires up. Berta is an even better moniker for your pretty lady there! Being a big girl ya know. Worth saving for sure. What I would likely do is disconnect the other side fender panel to get idea where the connectors are supposed to be. Take a picture of it to give you idea. For some reason Ellenore comes to my mind for the car's name.

Fix it! Maybe find an inner fender section from a yard. Santa might be up for a trip to see you and spot it back in, or you can buy the pinch welder from HF for those front spots to the core support if everything else is bolt-on.

Just put on a nice pair of gloves grab that sucker with your hands both hands put the camera on the tripod use both hands and manipulate the metal pull it up if not if it's too hard use a floor jack and also use that pry bar with a piece of wood underneath the metal to push it up !

Attach a jump box, or battery charger, to the jump points under the hood and you should be able to remove the battery without losing the radio code.

Poor man’s Frame Machine (tree, 4x4 post against the bumper support, and heavy duty ratchet strap, LOL) should be a quick fix!!!

I think it is definitely worth saving--not many of the W210 wagons are left in that condition and that would be great content.

I just love this car. Fixing mechanical is one thing, body work is a different ball game altogether. With DIY you may not achieve the perfect job the car deserves.

Mike, don't over think it. Its very fixable. You don't need a condenser if its not leaking. If your plan is to use it for general running around it doesn't need to be perfect. Start by taking out the plastic tanks so they don't get broken. Put a jack between the tire and the end of the apron and start jacking it up and see where it gets you. Most of that radiator support can be bent back into place enough to get parts to fit well enough to work. Get a fender, hood, headlight and bumper cover and bend things around until they fit. Its really not that bad your just over thinking it. Remember it just needs to look good from 20 feet.. your not going to enter it into car shows or anything. You can do it no problem. ✌

I think you have the ability and patience to fix it and you could ask Santa for pointers and possibly some help along the way!

I think you should take a shot at fixing it ! You have nothing to loose ! I think it will offer plenty of views of you repairing it. It does not need to be perfect on that corner ! The rest of the car appears well taken care of and in excellent shape ! For the replacement cover and metal pieces you should have an abundance of supply parts . paint will be the only real cost to another if you can't do that ! But you may also be able to hone your skills in that department as well ! You have nothing to loose ! Go for it ! I would enjoy seeing this rebuild ! Santa maybe able to do the paint also ???
