If you take Kizumonogatari movie vs its own light novel, one is more comical while the other one was more serious, but it's still one of the best anime movie out there. Now with this, instead of telling us more about his backstory, the anime is clearly showing more of "Rudy" than past MC so we wont start off with hating him but more so understanding him as it show bit by bits of his past per episode. Im just hoping that if they left out of how much his parents had helped him, students who were actually trying to help out, even visit his house, out of the show, it would be somewhat disappointing.

His graduation exam is different in the novel. Roxy told him to cast a comulunimbus spell and the thing about this spell is that it needs constant attention so it doesn't dissipate... Rudy used modern science, made it spin so it won't diaappear for a few minutes and sat down next to Roxy. Roxy exclaimed what are you doing here shouldn't you be casting the spell or it'll go away, Rudy explained I made it so it won't disappear.. Roxy went out of the tree and looked in shock at the pseudo-typhoon. Congratulations, I have no more to teach you.

@@xxThedangersxx They didn't really "change" as much as, they just didn't provide any of the explanation or back ground information and did a times skip of a few minutes. If you pay attention, you can see the scene where the pseudo-typhon is formed in the clouds. I guess it is one of those bad decisions when making anime to cut certain important information parts for the sake of making the episode conform to the time-span required.

Yeah, sex is often too big of a deal in anime. It's pretty refreshing seeing people do what people do. Tho, honestly Roxy could do it in her room, since you could probably here them going from the cellar. I guess, the lack of imagination is the reason she can't cast wordlessly and needed visuals to get off.

the novel explains in more detail how useless he was in his past life. after all the bulliyng and stuffered of course. He was 32 and kept doing the same thing everyday ignoring his parents advices and treating his family as if they were his servents. The ones who beat him up were his sibling, because he missed his parents funeral, and that was their limit so they kicked him out

I live by the philosophy that everyone has a reason for doing what they do. It makes me a little more understanding when people do bad things. As anime-only from what I gather watching these scenes Rudy in his past life was a fat kid who got bullied excessively and pretty much nobody cared about him. Given that in previous episode IIRC they said he's like 34-35 and he didn't leave the house for 20 years it means he dropped out of middle school and became a shut-in. As for being a jerk and not attending his parents' funeral, I think he literally couldn't. From what I heard this show is based on something written in the early 2000s so the NEET problem was an open secret but very little actions were taken to remedy it. So you have a scarred, motivationless and frankly hopeless man whom nobody truly understood. He leeched off his parents which likely caused constant grief for them and eventually they died while Rudy spent the time self-absorbed within his room. His brothers then finally had enough and kicked him out. I think the true kicker of that scene is how he died. He didn't commit suicide out of grief, he didn't just fail to survive, he rushed to save somebody he randomly saw on the street. I think this is why he was granted the chance to reincarnate. In spite of the shitty existence he had deep down Rudy was a good person who just got kicked down by life and didn't know how to get up. It seems the show wants to tackle this and let Rudy recover from his psychological scars while also doing classic Isekai shenanigans.

He was bad, in the beginning he skipped his parents funeral to do "that". When his siblings came back and saw that they had enough. The other flashbacks was of him still in middle school being bullied, showing how he ended up as that kind of person from the start.

You don't fight back because you fear the numerical disadvantage or because they seem stronger, so you endure that little act in order that don't become a real threat. The problem is that the little things aren't so little. Even at home I had a very bad exemple of being a person from my dad, luckily I manage to make some really good friends at the age of 18, who taught me what is right and what is wrong in the world. Harming people is the worst thing you can do.

Rudy was not a good person in his past life and the bullying, and it's been a while since I read the first book, just encouraged him to retreat more and more. Kinda spiraled down, weird kid bullied, kid retreats gets weirder, encourages more bullying, more retreating. That was his brother I believe who tossed him out after finding him fapping during their parents funeral. Kinda the straw the brook the camels back for him.

The bullying might seem extreme in this, but in Japan bullying gets VERY extreme. If I remember right there was even an instance where bullies wrapped a person up in a mat and shoved them in a locker or closet and the kid died.

Its worth noting that in Japan bullying is actually kinda normalized. Like its not the kind of taboo we think of it in the west. Its one of the reasons Bakugo was seen as so detestable here when MHA first came out but in Japan he was always one of and sometimes the most popular character. His bullying wasn't seen as that big of a deal as here. Its kinda like thoe boys will be boys mentality we have/had here when kids would fight except there replace it with bullying to the point teachers will often turn a blind eye thinking its not a big deal and the kid will grow from it if anything. Also in terms of fighting back, violence is super looked down on in Japan, and they are a much more reserved cultured. Here you might still get in trouble for fighting back against a bully but people wont begrudge you for it, while there you could end up in even more trouble than the bully if you say gouged their eye out even in self defense.

@@YaBoyRockLee Also worth mentioning kids are almost legally invincible in Japan. Upon turning 18 your record is expunged and sentences are by in large light when there are repercussions. This also means teens can harass and even bully adults and teachers to a certain extent which makes it so they are less likely to intervene. The law will by in large default to the child in a case in involving child and adult, and even just the public knowledge of an issue between the two, regardless of the ultimate outcome, can ruin the adults career. When people cry about cancel culture in the US they have no idea what real cancel culture is like in Japan.

I need to drive. To get to my destination. At any point in my life i get on a horse, it’s a non necessity. Unnecessary risk for me climb on that giant animal. It’s really simple. I’m afraid to ride a horse. A phobia does NOT have to rational. Also i was attempting a joke

@@YaBoyRockLee Actually, I have a similar approach to life. It's one thing to do things you need to do that may have risks involved, but doing things that are risky for no real good reason, nope. Like when I see people doing sky diving or anything like that ... all it is really is a fairly high risk for a short period of excitement. What you get out of it seems so not worth it. With that said, I have ridden a horse before as a kid lol. Or ... wait maybe I should say it was a pony, so ... guess that's different lol.

That comment was meant only for a certain time at the start according to the guy's reactions as they didn't seem to quite understand what was going on. @@Petq011 I speak from experience. Brick and rock throwing, illicit pictures, stolen or damaged property, sexual harassment, being taunted and harassed at home, even a stabbing. Had the full VIP experience. Understand in leaps and bounds the damage it does.

No he was still a pretty bad person. Sure there are circumstances that lead to it but at some point you are responsible for what you do. Say someone is treated poorly from a young age they could become mean and violent, the people who did at are clearly at fault. But if the kid becomes an adult and commits violent acts is he absolved from guilt?

in most manga i read, school in japan dont want to tarnish their name because of bullying. So they just punish the bully not expel them. And you know as long as the bully there, theyll keep bullying him. if the victim report to the police the school will siding with the bully. because if the bully get caught, it will tarnish the school name. sorry bad english

east asian school man, if an authority found a problem, the school is punished instead of the student, thus lead to most school ignore bullying or straight up trying to hide it. Not to mention that problematic underage students are protected by law, deeming them as "they're just kids making mistake that they will regret later, so no need to send them to prison". This also contributes to the high number of suicide among japanese and korean students, because the victims will always feel powerless.
