That' because mlp average fan is/was involved pretty much as an average sport fan, except without the normalization and short term "objective" of the game. I know this is 10 months too late, but I just saw this video and thought the same thing. Due to boredom I looked for clips from the movie to translate it. While there is no direct translation I could find, this is the closest I could get. Zenyatta: "squeak, squeak squeaker, squeak squeakin" Kronk: "squeaker, squeak, squeak, squeakin? " Kronk Translated: Did you eat my acorn? So Zen probably made a comment about eating his "acorns". It's past 1 in the morning and I'm translating a fictional squirrel language. I don't even know how my life came to this moment.

About the late night bookstore that someone wanted in Denver we have one of those. It's open until 1:00 am on Sunday through Thursday, & until 3:00 am on Friday and Saturday. Not EXACTLY a book night club, as it's coffee & not alcohol being served. Also comic books & used records/CDs. If you're ever in Denver you can visit Mutiny Information Cafe.
