@Purple_PiscesАй бұрын
@@NGEK587 read your own comments. "To the point of bleeding unlike others." "More gentle than others." To me that's putting another hoof trimmer down. The farms Nate works on probably does not have as many lame cows due to white line separations or abscesses due to cavities because of the environment they live in.

I think the problem with being so good at what you do is that you're slowly trimming your way out of being able to have the interesting videos people want to see. You aren't having the big problems that need lots of trimming so you aren't going to have the videos people want to see. It's a good problem to have.

Having read James Herriot more times than I can count, I’ve always heard it called “foul in the foot”, which I love because it sounds slightly medieval. So, have trimmers in the states dropped the longer name while it’s still used in British English?

How does one get in to cow hoof trimming or Farrier? I think an education video briefly explaining how one might consider learning this vocation would be interesting! I’ve researched Farrier schools near me in East Texas, but they seem to focus on horse hooves. Does it matter? Is there any work if you live in an area that focuses on meat cows or is this a vocation specific for dairy farms? Do you exclusively work on cows? Does the experience and training translate to other animals like horses, pigs, goats? Is there even any need for smaller animals like pigs and goats???

Maybe this has been asked and answered before, but I can’t remember so I’m asking now: With corkscrew rotation, do the trims only “fix” the problem in the short term? And what causes corkscrew rotation to happen in the first place?
