Wax has a low melting point. Meaning it doesn't need much heat to melt. I know because I've touched melted wax in candles and it didn't burn my finger. You can also tell by the fact wax starts to melt almost instantly when lit. It doesn't take as long as it takes water to boil hence the low melting point. Please don't stick a finger in a melting candle as it's not only near a flame and it's still moderately hot. If you touch it it's not cold since it's near a flame. So don't do it. I did it with a candle that I had turned off or with a candle I was recycling. As in melting an existing candle into a new one. Still don't do it. I don't want to be held liable for damages. I checked though and paraffin wax has a melting point of 37C° (99F°) so it's not hot to the touch. But it appears warm since it's closer to our body temp.

They used to do this at little fairs when I was younger! Kids would dip their hands in the wax, and then use cool water to set it and make a hand “candle”

actually it feels cold at first but when you have at least 3 layers on it starts to feel like the worlds smoothest glove

Reminds me of the candles that “witches” used to make in the Middle Ages. They’d use the hand of a dead person, or someone who got their hand(s) chopped off as punishment, and turn them into a candle. One wick in each finger. Once you lit a wick, you would be able to break into someone’s home, and they’d stay asleep as long as the finger was burning. I have a replica on my bookshelf ✌🏻
