Hi guys, I'm Eileen. I used to shop a lot, until minimalism came into my life. At the beginning, minimalism was nothing but fascinating to me. The idea that people live in tiny houses, own no furniture, and go by with a capsule wardrobe, left me mesmerised and inspired. Even after a lot of decluttering, I still always felt guilty about owning too much. Deep down, I didn't feel like I should own anything designer at all. If I felt unworthy for owning too little in the past, I now felt the same way for having too much. Talk about irony. In the last few years, I've learnt to incorporate minimalism into my life in a way that works for me. As someone who went from one extreme to the other, I can honestly say minimalism doesn't have to be all or nothing. I'm not the perfect luxury minimalist, but yet minimalism saved my life xx

I really enjoyed the video. There is not a one size fits all to minimalism. Sometimes it's okay to have multiples as long as everything is getting used. I can't say enough how minimalism has changed my outlook on life. To be honest it's a lifelong journey. Not too many people understand that it's not just physical but also a state of mind ❤

Wow, you speak from my heart! It's so right to focus on making concious life decisions instead of trying to force ourselves into a stereotype that's just not right for us. I made the mistake myself, now close to 10 years ago. I tried so hard to be a "real" minimalist and it made me miserable. Beautiful things are fun, we just have to be cautious that they don't eat up all our energy and time and get overwhelming. One thing I would now never get rid of is books. I just love my home library and I can't get myself to read digitally. And earrings as well 😊 I have 6 lobe piercings and it's always fun to mix and match!

Love the video! I don't own a car or a TV BUT I do own quite a few earrings (just like you) as I love wearing them so much... my other love is fine bone china mugs, in beautiful designs. We can all pick and choose what we wish to be minimal in and what to invest and enjoy!

Oh yes, all of my electronics are used until there is no more life left in them. 😊 Eileen, you advised me that I don't have to get rid of everything at once... that was Great Advice for me. I didn't want to regret letting go of something I might need later. I took that advice & I was able to clearly see what needed to go. It didn't take me long to realize there are different levels of minimalist. I found it amazing how some live with so little. I've ALWAYS wanted to try living like LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE for 1 week.... prairie clothes, oil lantern, wooden stove, horse/wagon and all. Can you Imagine!😂 Great Video... I like how you approached minimalism. This is exactly what I want to achieve. I don't have expensive things but I have too much crap because it was cheap. I want to find reasonable amount of clothes and makeup but realy good quality that I will enjoy using and I will not have constant need to look for new things because all my stuff is shit.

Each person finds the minimal that works for them. Not everything is for everyone and that's perfectly fine. Oh Wow, Eileen, that red dress! Ho Leng! While keeping things electronic is helpful, I find some things simply need to be done on paper. I love Moleskine as well. A gel pen on a Moleskine page is delicious.

I suppose there are different levels of minimalism. I am working towards ways to minimize the things I have around the house. How do you handle that aspect of your life? I have a hard time letting go of shoes however, I have brought a good amount to a resale shop in my area. The truth is, I don't miss them at all. It was a liberating feeling to declutter those items. Thanks for your inspiration.

I usually keep an eye on things that I don't use much. If something hasn't been used for 12 months, I'm quite happy to let go of them. I do take more time with designer pieces because it definitely takes time to find the right buyer xx

Noted! I will see if I can make a video about it but to be honest, I mainly reserve some time in the morning (when my mind is fresh) for journaling, and I try not to edit/curate -- I just pour my raw thoughts out xx
