IT FINALLY ARRIVED & the chateau KITCHEN MAKEOVER lighting install - Journey to the Château, Ep. 95

Жыл бұрынIn this week's episode, Patrick and Stuart finally get the long awaited delivery of the extractor (exhaust) fan for the chateau cuisine and John the electrician also installs all of the new lighting in the kitchen. Patrick and Stuart also show recent trips to several local brocantes along with showing their brocante purchases for the chateau.
Join Patrick and Stuart on their journey to find a neglected, forgotten, or crumbling château or castle in France, and then continue to follow them as they work on its restoration, rénovation, decoration, and furnishing. Along the way, they will also create and share videos on their preparation for having gîtes for guests, and an event venue in their chateau (wedding, birthday, anniversary, organization or club meetings, retreats, etc.).

We are lucky to have yet another amazing friendship. 😊😊😊 More brocantes and a full dinner party this weekend with our friends from Australia who will stay with us for a few days while searching for chateaux in our area. Good morning Patrick & Stuart, looking good, happy and relaxed!! Love your purchases, the blue fleur de lies is so lovely and the candle stick is just gorgeous. It will get a place all for itself. Also the bed warmer has the fleur de lies pattern, it is so unique to France. Beautiful flowers, love the soft pink peonies but the white is exquisite. Well at least you have the fan installed which is a winner and the lighting, we changed globes in our fittings recently, what a dynamic change could not wait for the evening had to switch on the lights and I am so happy. The globes gave a sort of old gold effect, it frustrated me so, I always felt I had to put up another 4 candelabras to help me see. I dislike dingy lights. No surprise that your guests were happy, I am sure the gite will become extremely popular. I am sure a good time will be enjoyed by all with your family member arriving. Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too at the brocante! Two Winnies--1 large and 1 tiny. Love all of your brocante finds. Your peonies are superb! Confession: I had an apartment with a blue stainless steel front fridge. I love blue and the unit needed color. Turns out that it was the plastic wrap. It was on so tight, and there was so little light in the apartment, that I couldn't see the difference.

I so enjoy going along on your brocante trips and seeing all your purchases. All through this video I was admiring the peonies behind you. They are one of my favorites even though their blooms last such a short time. And it is great to see the progress in the kitchen. I'm sure it is satisfying to have more lighting in the kitchen, and a second shower in the bathroom!

We are really happy you enjoy the brocantes. And indeed, peonies are my favorites too. My granny grew them and had them in a vase. The progress in the kitchen is wonderful to see and we have a few upper cabinets to install and to wait for the cooker/stove. We did make some progress……. Thank you so much. ❤❤❤

Glad your first Airbnb guests went well.. Suggest you clean as soon as guests leave, this year I have had a greater number of last minute bookings with only1 or 2 hours to get everything prepared, mind you I have it set up to accept this... great you have bookings starting to roll in.. Those peonies in the vase behind you are gorgeous!!!! Good to hear you have the lighting installed and hood arrived! There were some lovely items you showed us at the Brocante and I love what you bought. You have to know that anyone who is coming to stay with you are so excited about staying on the grounds of a Chateau in the Gite, they wouldn't have any idea of what you're thinking or think you're lacking....only YOU are worrying, they're having a blast! You guys are the best and who wouldn't want to come and stay with you!!!

Most of my thoughts have already been said by others but I will mention a couple of your brocantes things that I adored! The candle stick and wall pocket vase were so beautiful in my eyes and the peonies in the vase were just gorgeous. The sideboard/desk was a great find and proves to you both that as the saying goes, ‘Good things come to those who wait!’ Lets just hope no one takes advantage and makes you wait a good deal longer.👏👌🥰

My favorite smelling peony is Festiva Maxima. Unfortunately not all peonies smell lovely. I sure have experienced some really stinky ones. Glad you inherited the nice smelling ones!!

Hello Patrick and Stuart, as they say over here in Ireland “I’m delighted and excited “ that the kitchen is nearing completion . The beams are just fabulous and the colour on the walls just makes then stand out more. They say that lighting is the most important part when decorating a room, well lads you’ve certainly got that right as your choice of lights and lamps are just superb and creating a lovely ambience I’m sure. I love the bedside table that you bought at the Brocante . That is very nice to know that your bookings for the gite are from customers viewing it on Airbnb and not just because of the vlog. Oh WOW I love the lighting - of course great taste and suitable for your interior design aesthetics. Tres jolie! OMG I have rose prints in one of our restrooms, that are almost the exact same. So the kitchen is beginning to get more complete. Love the industrial extractor. Think it will come in handy with R&B. Like that you used different kinds of lamps. The side tabel is so beautilful. Patrick its so cute that you say Ja like in Dutch for Yes. As said before your humor and laughter helps when things sometimes don't go the way you would like to. It is coming together…… slowly …..😂😂😂😂. The extractor was a long search as well. But is fits that opening perfectly. I am glad you enjoy my pronunciation! I have such a mix of accents and it made the crazy accent I have. 🤣😂🤣 love your comment. We did accomplish a lot for the two of us with some help. My problem is that i look at what needs to be done. Great video, thank you!!! Your exhaust fan really put the fireplace/mantle size in perspective! I thought it was huge, until you installed it. That mantle is massive! Your kitchen is really turning out beautifully. I love the old light (single one), that you hung near the door. Glad you found some purchases when you were shopping, because as much fun as it is to look, it's even more so to bring something home. Lastly, congratulations on all the bookings. You will be marvelous and by this time next year, hosting guests will be second nature to you both.
