One also needs to keep in mind that a donut in each hand is a balanced meal. Donut in one hand and coffee in the other only counts when the weight of the donut is enough to balance the weight of the cup.

A friendly tip: if you are missing one of the stereo channels you can mix the audio into mono so we get both left and right :) better than one sided stereo. Most editing softwares allow doing this without making the whole project mono. Thanks for working hard for our entertainment! You're all amazing.

I also would like to note the wireless mics are pretty good as well because they will record their own audio file and then you have a backup source.

The blanket is to prevent pinholes from sparks and slag. The reason it caught on fire before, is BECAUSE he had a blanket on it…a canvas/cotton blanket, not a fiberglass one, or at least a cotton one that’d been treated with flame retardant.

@@Lucas12v yes indeed, when I was doing custom work, everything that was too difficult to take out was covered in cow hide to prevent weld and grind sparks.

Yeah you received your Golden Ticket for the Tow Truck Trials and have made some major strides in completing the tow truck before taking to Chad for the wiring install. Looking good!

Something to remember, this came from my Dad when I was 16 and working on a '47 Chevy 2 door. Always make sure the engine runs first so you don't have to push it around, back then it only took about 4 wires to do that.

Paul I really like using the Head ache rack as an air tank is a good idea just in case. I really like how you can use the back air bags independently for safety in a interesting situation. I know the Wrecker games is going to be a lot of fun to watch with everyone who is going to be there

I would LOVE to see an 80's training montage. Na, it's only a little truck and the main winch is hydraulic, Chad and the gang will knock it out of the park in no time. I'm excited, this will be almost as epic as the Golden Nugget recovery.

A little note: those air struts for the hood are upside down. The lubrication comes from the body of the strut being up when they're extended. Y'all have built a truly amazing machine. I'm looking forward to seeing it out on the trail!

Paul and Ben, A common problem with dashes of the 70s and 80s was the damage a collision can cause by knees smashing into the underdash. Your long legs get awful close and a sudden stop without a tight harness could seriously injure your or another's knees. Please consider keeping your legs safe. They are all you have to stand on..

Team Fab Rats shirt ordered! Build is looking really good! I'm putting my money on you all. Need some places to mount cameras. Ones that are powered by the truck electrical system. Give the camera crew a bit more work, and the editor a ton more to work with. (Sorry Michelle!) And don't forget a place to charge camera batteries and phones! That way you have extra's, and your phone stays charged.

It's actually a horrible idea, compressed gas/air is stored in cylinders for a reason. It's will turn that square tubing round over time and break stuff in the process.

Good idea on the independent air bag controls. I learned that cornering weight shift occurs when they're hooked together. Not good when towing. Heck of a build. Haven't missed an episode.

Gosh the Rat Wecker is too cool looking! When Ben and Hunter rolled it onto the lift I just had to pause the video and stare! I was honestly overwhelmed. The 4 led headlights, the winch and the large round leds, front end shape, raised hood, the tires....the overall look! My goodness Paul and Fabrats crew....I am amazed and speechless. The wife and I are retired and massive rabid Fabrats and MORR fans. Although the current economy won't allows us to to make the Olympics I assure you this wrecker will take home gold in the "looks" category. The wife says hi to Paul, Michelle and crew!!

I love seeing the master disconnect for the chassis... thats brilliant really.... I have seen more then one vehicle (commercial series) burn down due to lack of a master disconnect.... I install one on most of everything commercial I own.... to include tractor, motorhome etc....

Thanks for the video. Watching you and Ben were together reminds me of my brother and I when we were your age and we did a lot of stuff like this together. Not quite so much as building a complete truck but keeping our trucks together in our cars together and helping each other out doing all sorts of weird and Wild Things. Those were some good years. I would love to come out to eat lunch time watches and have a part but sadly finances and poor health stop us from traveling. Thanks again for the video you boys and girls have a good evening. Matt abandoned his off road wrecker frame as a compressed air tank and you should too. The action of compressing air yields moisture that builds up in the reservoir. You will be rusting your headache rack from the inside out.

as a blacksmith, we make or buy jigs to make or round our 1/4" bar. or the hard way getting it hot and bang it with a hammer. "Easy jig" - round piece of pipe with a 1/4" hole to put the round bar in, put the pipe in your vise. using "cold rolled 1/4" bar" get the bar hot or you can do it cold, wrap it around the pip to get your nice round curves...
