how the hell was JT dying not even mentioned though? I was so baffled...

I got more emotional when the old cast were talking and showing their moments on degassi. I like the new degrassi but I LOVE the old "Degrassi the next generation" I never got emotional with the new degrassi as much as the old ones no matter who died or graduated or anything I just didn't connect with it anymore. It would have been fkn Awsome to see Sean, Toby, Liberty, JT, Terry, Jimmy, Manny, Jay, Spike, and Ashley involved in this but I still loved this thank you for posting!!!!!!!

They left out a number of Most talked about moments like Manny's abortion (which the episode was banned in the US for two years), Emma's encounter with an online predator (with apologize to the leader of Degrassi was the first dark storyline OK maybe you can debate that), Darcy being raped, Mia being a teen mom, and of course JT's death. How did they forget most beloved Degrassi characters being killed? I'm sure there's other storylines I forgot.

time stands still was the turning point of degrassi. it really changed how you looked at life. I know it hit me hard core.

The fact that JTs death wasn't talked about is so crazy. That has to be like the #1 moment. He was my all time fave and when he got killed it hurt so bad and it to this day is still so hard to talk about like ugh. It should've been apart of this special.

degrassi has touched my heart in a way that no other show has. i really connected with these characters and they became my family. degrassi will always be epic and have a place in my heart.

I was an adult watching this show. I grew up around the time of the original series. I have to say the stories of JT and Rick were the saddest ones I’d ever seen. I watched it on and off but I did love the way they tackled so much in each season. By the time the original Next Generation classes left I was pretty much done. But it impacted me seeing the kinds of things going on in schools.

23:49 to 23:48 -- EXACTLY! It's five years later, and I (and the rest of the world) still wonder what *the absolute fuck* were they thinking having Spinner and Emma get married! They had had one -- _one_ -- interactive story across *9* fucking seasons before that whole marriage bullshit happened. (Yeah, yeah, I know -- sometimes crazy shit happens in people's lives... but *this*? -- It just made no sense, narratively. And the meta-narrative aspect -- it was a form of closure for Emma and Spinner as the "last two original characters left standing" -- is just so lame it's beneath Degrassi, as a show. ) >deep breath in... slow exhale... focus... calm< #THATSHITWASFUCKINGSTUPID >calm... calm... calm...

I think the old degrassi was more realistic and less dramatic than the new degrassi but the old cast couldnt act as well as the new cast

I love how they mention that Emma should have ended up with Sean. I think that's one of the biggest things I'll never be able to get over. I also can't understand why they didn't mention JT's death; that was a difficult moment to get through. Especially to be able to continue on watching and realize JT was never coming back and that he never got the chance to tell Liberty that he loved her and vice versa. JT was such a lovable character, too. I believe it touched a lot of fans. I also wish they brought up Darcy's rape. I think they touch on religion a little bit in the show, so she was the first person (from my memory) who was very devoted in religious practice. She believed in marriage before sex, and the fact that someone stole that from her completely traumatized her. She didn't want to talk to anyone about it, and she was going through an inner war. I thought it was very heartbreaking. Her character changed a lot after that. I'm glad they touched upon Craig's bipolar disease. I think the writers did an amazing job throwing subtle hints from the start. It gave a lot more perspective for Craig's character. I wish they also mentioned him getting beat by his father. I still remember how much I cried over those episodes.

The cast member that returned for this Should have come back For the The TNG finale. it would nice to see how the characters were doing and what there lives were like now

This special so awesome I went to school in late 89-90 with some of the original cast I never actually watched it then it wasn’t until my 30’s I started watching reruns and then started happily watching next generation and seeing the show was still epic and true to its roots I was thrilled when they came out with next class it was show my daughter and I watched together Marco gay story line was hard for me to watch as I’m from very traditional Italian family I have 3 siblings only one big bro that I adored growing up he was the only boy in family my dad took it so bad when he came out in his later 20’s I know my brother suffered in silence trying to deal with it after finding tape recording of my brother talking to tape about himself so seeing Marco struggle and then over come really made me understand my big bro way better I loved him no matter what anyways but I couldn’t understand how he went from dating some of his school hottest girls to telling mom and dad he was gay my dad said I have no son to him on phone and then hung up on my bro and they didn’t speak for almost a yr mom was I don’t care I love u no matter what

And when Jt died my mom was outside and I didnt actually cry about it till I walked outside and said "Mom...Jt just died" and then the second I walked inside I cried, honestly being attached to characters or personas so much like that scares me lol
