Thanks for donating that fish. I always do the same when I can and people are so happy when you do it. A small blessing to pass on to others.

Love it. Got addicted to surf Speck fishing on Hatteras Island in the early 80s. My favorite being middle of the night on a falling tide... Pretty work.

Salt water or fresh water there is nothing that pumps the adrenaline like catching fish on top water lures. Learning to wait for the actual hit rather than reacting to the surface splashes is hard. Most beginners will react to those splashes and jerk the bait too soon trying to set a hook before a fish actually has ahold of the top water lure.

You sir are correct; I LOVE catching surf trout here in Texas! They have super broad shoulders and are meaner than a cut snake.

It's sweet your daughter has taught you to share your biggest catch with a less fortunate angler, lol

My wife and I are trying to get our place sold and move to the Alabama coast. Can't wait to be standing in the surf at sunrise, a dream come true.

I am jealous of the variety and size of fish you can catch of the beaches down there. Up here in Oregon, all there is off the beach is surf perch and the occasional flounder.

So does surf fishing a well known tourist beach(PCB for instance) that has a lot of people during the day affect the fish that will be there early morning or late evening? Will the fish mostly avoid these areas or am I over thinking?

Yep

How are there so many trout where you fish? Ive fished destin fl every may for 2 yrs and never caught one from shore
@pdm1289Ай бұрын
I have a local reservoir that I fish from the bank frequently. I cast out in places I know hold fish and have minimal success. And when I go to the same areas fishing with a guide we catch fish. Because he knows the movement of bait and fish on a daily basis and I don’t. It is a matter of repetition, knowledge, and timing.

@@braydenpaulk5079 Yeah, I don't know why most KZfaqrs don't use the bubble rig. I always have luck when no one else is even by using the straw method.
