Compared to what some people pay for airsoft/paintball guns, this thing is 1/4 the price. Could be worth it because it could be useful for more than just airsoft/paintball

PSA DO NOT BUY Cool review but the tech is end of life. Intel has since bought recon (the company that makes the hud) and has discontinued all support for all recon products. They are shutting it down. This promo is a big moneygrab by empire to try and shovel off all this crap they have left. Way too expensive as well. Their is also no support whatsoever to develop apps for this. They took the API down off their website and its all dead links.

@@paunservos your not gonna get any use out it. Without the app it's useless and the app has been removed from both the play store and the app store. Also if you want to track your friends, they need the app as well. I'm actually trying to make a similar solution using a raspberry pi but that's gonna take me a few months to figure out.

3D Printwiz I have the DJI Mavic with the goggles. I can have it follow me overhead. That would be cool if I could get a feed into the mask. Like watching yourself in 3rd person view.

MrBearMan_ Dye has their e.Voke system that's a bit cheaper, but you have to have the $1,600 M2 MOSair and the newest R2 loader for it to be useful

There's also the fact that to even come close to communicating with your team, someone else ALSO has to buy this. So, yeah...500 for each person, plus usually a 1000+ marker, 200~ hopper, 200+ tank, and 60~ for a pack...there are some things I can live without, especially if you are keeping up VERY basic communication. Plus one more thing to charge every time playing.

So, fun story: Oakley the sunglass company actually used to make a pair of snowboarding goggles utilizing the same HUD/wrist control system. It told you where your buddies are on the mountain, your speed, altitude, what music was playing in your speakers, etc. They made those a couple years ago. Looks like empire just took that HUD system and applied it into a paintball mask. Great idea, but originality is.. lacking. By taking the idea I mean outright buying it from the same HUD manufacturer. The logo on the wrist band is the exact same. The app is the same, it’s just calculating a few metrics differently. For anyone wondering, they were called the Oakley Airwave and models existed in 2013. You’re welcome, A former Oakley employee of 3 years.

Eclipse I've been shot point blank with a 400+ fps gun and it hurt for like 5 second ls then I was fine, its not as bad as you think Also I'm like both speedsoft and Milsim but I think the bang rules dumb and is easily abbused

so this thing shows your team mates if there wearing these, but what about if an enemies wearing one to? is there a way to make it so you cant see them? i could see that being a bit of an issue if you cant

In paintball, those forearm protectors aren't necessarily used for reducing pain but for preventing breaks and making dives easier. I personally haven't noticed a huge difference in pain, but I don't think I've ever gotten a broken ball on my Exalt pads

SlenderCam sure is! And Oakley manufactured a model of goggles for it. The Airwave. They were neat, got to mess around with it quite a bit since I worked for the Oakley company for a while. It’s cool, but I couldn’t imagine trying to manage a hud flying down a slope at 10+ mph. Probably just make me crash. 🤷♂️

John-Kenneth Lim The Action Army hopup unit it the greatest investment that you can make with a vsr based system. I had one with a Mancraft system and was reaching out to 270ft accurately with a stock barrel and rhop.

It's meant for paintball and it kinda sucks. It has a lot of echo and while it looks like it has a lot of visibility with the large lens; the whole lens isn't actually usable because of some barriers inside.

Look in that catalog. When you come across a pistol player, moehawk, David Dinda, that is my Lutenit on our team "soldiers of chaos". Real quick question, can an rc car charger charge aeg batters. I spent a good chunk of cash on it and it charges anything from nickle metal to lipos. The whole shebang, but I'm unsure about that part. Thanks and love your vids

I'm interested to see your review and how this applies to airsoft. Perhaps somebody will create an app so you can sync the mask with a mosfet like the spectre mk2 with that special hop up chamber that counts rounds so you can always know how much ammo you have? Otherwise, I don't think it's really that important to be able to read my texts in the middle of a game. Perhaps if you had a good phone plan this system could replace a dedicated headset with a radio for your phone assuming you have good reception and the communications are on point.

Hey Johnathan, you mentioned you are a Geek, same here. I have always had a passion for working on PC's. In fact I work at a tech company now, I used to work as a Ref for a paintball field, once in a while we would get companies out playing for a company game. I've been talking to my boss and he was thinking about organizing a game as both a fun thing and kinda a department vs. department thing. What are your thoughts on something like this?

cyma has really good guns bro :) i got myself a cyma AK for about 3 years now, and it still works like its new :) also if you're searching for a cheap m4 platform, mayby go for specna arms. they just came out with a new series the "specna arms core" they start from around 120 euro's and are pretty good :)

Best beginner guns would be either a combat machine (made by G&G) which there’s a lot of out there or there’s the classic army EC1 or EC2 I personally have a EC1 and with the a Madbull inner barrel I’m getting the range of stock krytacs and a fire rate faster than a stock krytac and I’ve dropped it and fell on it and it’s held up perfectly
