Metal detecting this old farm now overgrown well after 100 years of being deserted we had saved the side yard section. Well today was cold at 18 degrees and it was the perfect location to just go and dig. This old site goes back into the 1700s and was a very busy farm in the 1800s and in the past we have found a lot of great relics and coins here. Today in the cold we walked it all back and fourth in-between the rock walls and the cellar hole. Metal detecting old places like this with all the New England history your going to dig up old artifacts for sure , and we did.

18⁰!? Wow. It's exactly the opposite in SC. It's 81⁰ today. And that was an awesome reel. Very early. That ground must have been hard to dig into being that cold. I woulda stepped outside there and been like......nope....going back in. 😂 Yall are troopers.

I suppose the screw that holds the reel on tight got loose and jiggled out and didnt notice it until he got home...maybe he looked for it but dangit he didnt have a detector...maybe you can do a return to them...but then you would have to do more digging...lol
