I got a bunch of cards from my neighbours back in 2003, right before gen 3 hit in my country. Yet somehow gen 4 is by far the most nostalgic for me, maybe because i kept the most of them, or because its right before i had to grow up, but the gen 4 sets before platinum and hgss always hits right in the heart.
