I'm not surprised someone recognized y'all Andy. Y'all have one of the very best farming channels on KZfaq. I wish I had a dollar for every stick of tobacco that went through that pack house basement. I pruned my cherry trees the other day and used some of your pruning tips. Y'all have a great weekend!

I think you did the best you could have done with the pipe in the wet ground and as I have found out that it's always better to have a larger pipe in the ground than a smaller one it's easier to clean out a larger one and keep it clear you won't ever regret it

Love your videos and I love how you let your kids be kids. Maggie reminds me of my baby girl (she's 42 now) she used to love digging up worms and she would also come in the house with a pocket full of green lizards 😂. I clean my cast iron like you do. I'm 70 years old and it's always worked for me!! Keep them videos coming. I look forward to every one you make. I usually watch them 2 or 3 times because I always miss something the first time. I would love to see you guys in person but, right now I just love watching you on utube. Honestly, I feel like part of the family because y'all are so real and you make me feel like I'm there with you. I catch myself talking to y'all 😂❤

Let me tell you a story I’m a little older now, but when I was in my 30s, I was real strong as a community activist I mean I would fight for so many things for this community. I’ve been to the Capital I’ve been to City Hall several times I’ve been to our commissioners office. I was really really hard on doing so much for the better of our committee. I’m still looking at the activist I don’t do as much as I used to but I’ll hit a meeting Every now and then and people are like wow you’re actually here because you know life just happens and things change you know and I’m so busy with my family that I just can’t get out but if I see something that is not right believe me, I’m gonna give it one tough fight to get that corrected because everybody deserve better so when I see that you saw some people and it makes you feel good it does cause I don’t really get out as much as I used to as far as the community but when I do and people see me, they get excited and it doesn’t make you feel good. My son said he was just telling me my daughter-in-law how I was going strong back in the day, with her being an activist for my community and I said yeah and it’s just not as easy now that I’ve gotten older and I have a lot more responsibility. I think I mentioned it my husband is sick and my father-in-law has dementia so I’m the caregiver…✝️💜💜✌🏽

I can relate to some of what you said, especially that last part. I help my sister, in being a caregiver for our mom. She’s unable to walk, so there needs to be someone their at all times. With that being the bulk f your time, it gives you less time to do those things that you may need and want to do!

Megan, I have cast iron I use daily that is three+ times older than you and I wash mine the same way with the exception of my three sizes of cornbread pans. Removing the old loose grease and food debris and giving the throughly dry pan a fresh coating is the life of your cast iron. I throughly enjoy your honest daily life videos👍

Nothing like having a PRODUCTIVE DAY..hard work always pays off feel good by the end of the Day ..Labor of love for your family… I’m on a smaller scale but this week I have done a lot we’ve had small little things that had to get done that were just those you know annoying little things but finally we’ve done them and started turning over the dirt on some of the planters. I started a few seeds which I’ll bring in. Someone has mentioned that we’re going to get one more freeze here in Texas , I don’t know at the end of the month or something so I’m not gonna put nothing in the ground but I have started seeds and I can bring that trays in inside For us here it’s Friday. I’m actually glad we’re gonna have a couple of days of rain, so I’m pretty sure that we’re not gonna be heading no worries we’ll stay close to home I don’t like to get out in the rain in the streets of here of Houston gets kind of crazy plus the Super Bowl weekend you know it’s kinda some people have a too much of a time of celebration so for us we’ll stay in. I still have plenty of things to do in , but this week has been overall a good week I like that you have a great community help to help y’all there.. Oh yesterday this young man friend of mine brought me three plants that he just started rooting two bamboo. They go inside one bamboo for outdoors and aloe vera and he brought me some fresh farm eggs from his little area on their silky eggs and I’ve already had two and they’re great. I don’t have chickens, but my kids want me to get chickens they’re probably gonna get me a coop built , I just have a lot going on but I mean I guess I can start small 🐓

I watched the show that tells you you're only supposed to rinse your cast iron pans in hot water and just use a scrub pad and that wipe them up with a rag afterwards no soap soap takes you seasoning off of your pans that's just what's been working pretty good for me lately before I used to put them in the dish wash them in them soapy water and dried them and put them back in the cupboard and they were always rusty when you go to use them not a lot of rust but a little bit of rust but since I've been just rinsing them in hot water and using a scrub pad and then wipe them out with a rag a lot of times I'll just throw them back on the hot burner let them cook the water off

Megan Mike castor looks just like yours. It beats real good it’s very seasoned I very lightly clean it. I don’t really scrub it hard put it back on the fire put a little oil if it needs it and I use mine quite a lot to me. It makes the best potatoes, I got a small one. That makes really great eggs slide off like nonstick, but I use mine yesterday. It makes a really good steak too pork chops and steaks.

I only have three pieces of cast-iron. I have a lot of stainless steel and a few copper but I do use the cast-iron more than all of them. I think I need to get me some wood and I’m going to make me a little. I don’t know I don’t know where I can hang them on the wall with the wood won’t scratch up the wall but I’ll be doing that soon, I don’t know if I get a hold of Cedar or not. We’ll figure it out but I wanna hang my three pieces of cast-iron because they stay on my stove and I constantly move around but if I had a little wall hanger it would be better for me to just put them on the wall.

Are you guys too far south to have sugar maples for making maple syrup? I can just picture you doing that in the spring. One thing they don't really do here in Ohio, but I know they do south of here is make sorghum. Have you guys ever done that? I've seen some pretty neat KZfaq videos on the process. I'd love to find a community that has some kind of a "sorghum days festival" that the Mrs. and I could visit.

Hey Lawson Folks ! I wanted to ask a question that is a little off the topic of this video. My family has always planted by the signs. I try to do it when I can but sometimes I just have to go on and plant even if the signs aren't right. Do y'all or do your families plant by the signs?
