It's a junkyard rescue School Bus edition. It's time for a cummins swap.

On this episode we go back to the junkyard to get a school bus that I purchased on a prior episode running. We then drive it from the junkyard to my buddies shop so we can start gutting it. We're going to swap the engine and transmission into my 1992 GMC Top Kick. Big thanks to Chucks Auto Salvage for allowing us to film and hang out in the junkyard.

I always wanted to put a suck-up bed inside an old school bus to have a gullwing rear section of buss open up and crap out a world class sportscar. The rest of the buss would be my RV-auto shop. With some kind of vintage buss, and a matching year's car, this idea could be a SEMA WINNER !

Replace most of the sides with standard aluminum sheet and maybe some conventional windows to make it looks a little less redneck too lol

I put a ramp door on the back of mine. Makes for a great toy hauler. It's nice working inside while it's raining on everyone else.

This wasn't just a favorite Newbern video, this was a favorite all kinds of video! Watching a bunch of guys trying to get a Cummins to start and then parading it around with a bunch of ear to ear grins. All that was missing was the cooler of beer in the back of the bus.

Old Buses are a lotta fun, the 2 stroke Detroits are the hot rod version but nothing beats a Cummins for value! Awesome that Wirecare came to the party too! Shame we dont have em in Australia :-)

Cool find though I wouldn't use that automatic, it's a allison 500 series, no overdrive, no torque converter lockup so you won't like the speed the ol 4 speed can offer, been there got rid of that.

The car at scrap yard was a 49 Pontiac road master had a straight 8 fluedin man. Automatic,worked like auto at stop sign but had a gear shifter had to be used, don't down shift Intel stopped 3speed
