What up Adam !! You’ve attracted me towards 350’a but I live in San Diego and there aren’t any tracks really close to me so drifting would be a meh for me. I still want a 240 to make into a show car because honestly, showing up to a meet in a 350 isn’t as fun as showing up in a 240. I still hope to win the cream z though!! Keep it up Adam!

Once you do those sensors don't be surprised if it throws off the throttle body. I had to take mine to the dealership for a re learn.

Heat up the door panel with a heat gun and slam it closed. Always done this for my cages and if you need extra clearence slide something with a low profile over the cage beforr slamming it closed!

You ever think about doing an MR2 pump for your power steering? If you're having so many issues with the seals blowing out, might be due to prolonged high pressure while drifting. Between the higher side load of mad skids, and the sustained high volume from the pump spinning so quick, I can see that wearing the seals quickly. Electronic pump would maintain a stable pressure, and possibly longer rack life. I'm no engineer, but I do break things often. Food for thought, love the content, keep it up.

Starting off having a bit of a fit mate might wanna go see the doc

I had a random missfire in my truck. It was caused by a hole in my intake manifold gasket. Usually a random missfire is caused by a vacuum leak like I had or a bad coil pack/wire. Most of those sensors will throw a code if they are failing or starting to fail. Also if its not throwing a code for the random missfire it probably isn't happening too often (I haven't driven your car so I don't fully know). The code for a random missfire will show up when 2% of all the fires are misses which isn't a lot. When your check engine light if flashing it usually means more that 10% of all the fires are misses. Hope this helps

Get a soft bristle brush and clean that radiator up a bit befor things get caked up in between the fins and. It doesn't work as well. Make sure to go with the grain of the fins

Just FYI, the Z’s are known for killing non OEM sensors, the cam sensors especially. They typically only last a few months or so. I’ve had the same problems on mine.

Knock sensors have a tendency of going out a lot on those cars. I would recommend relocating the sensor to avoid pulling everything off every time

Street faction makes door panels for the s13 and s14. Also A different company makes carbon fiber door cards for the s13 and s14 and which you could cut to fit a roll cage and just add a piece of carbon fiber again inside the cut door :)

hey guys, I'm in need of some help. i have a sr20det in my 180sx type x. so basically, in all gears other than neutral it cuts out the revs at 2200 rpm, it doesn't slowly break up as you get up in the revs but just cuts out & returns to idle until it is pulled out & put back in gear. i can't seem to figure out what is causing the issue, any ideas? cheers my dudes

if its a random mutltiple cylinder missfire, most of the time its either the knock sensor or coil packs, so if you get this issue again i would go straight to replacing all 6 coil packs, happened to me with my z and ive seen it on multiple vq35de equiped vehicles as i am a certified Infiniti mechanic

I have a similar problem on my gs300 and I read that if the knock sensor goes and I'm not using premium it'll ruin my motor and my dad doesn't let me use premium

Hey Adam on the give away 350z you should really consider installing a catch can on it. The engine tends to suck in oil through the pvc systems and from how gummed up the intake looks in the video the car needs one.

I made the mistake of not replacing my intake gasket when I did my knock sensors. Had to break it down all over again lol

I have an oil filter relocation kit for the same reason and its leaking everywhere.

i find it funny that adam is barely scratching the surface of rc drifting lol he already owns a rwd d4 but prefers the awd traxxis. really all he needs is someone with a good tune for the d4 and just follow that exactly and it will run really good. My d4 is getting close to that good handleing stage just a few more changes like a prosquat rear and a hybrid stpring mono and should handle better.

it's usually the knock sensor wire that is the issue the sensor itself is usually fine but better to replace the sensor while changing the wire...

I have a question for every one if you had to buy a drift car what would it be im curious?

Take a heat gun to the door card where it hits the cage. Put some extra thickness around the cage (whether its a couple socks or rubber matt etc for extra clearance) Get it hot. Almost too hot but just under than point. And then shut the door tight. That should mold around your cage pretty well where it no longer rubs and prevents it from shutting easily.

You should get an intercooler since you have a turbo setup and you beat the crap out of it.

If it is a thermostat oil cooler did you bleed it properly would hate to see the engine oil starve!

Try heating up the plastic and when warm enough to bend slam your door against the frame it will shape the door panel.

You should do something different and put ITB's on the Z. It sounds amazing!

you need to change the knocksensor kabels as well. that's what fucks up most times, happend to mine.

So I've heard some things regarding oil filter spacers/sandwich. Some people say that they can lower your oil pressure. Other people say that there is no harm with running them I would like to see what other people have to say before I order one for my SR. Thanks guys!

Should buy some farm land and build a track and a large barn to store some cars in. Have one exotic car for your self to roll in or some land and some beaters to beat around in. Could even do grip type racing as well. Just need to be out of town to do it.

Hopefully you replaced the wiring harness to the sensor. a good 90% of the time its the wiring and not the sensor that fails. The wires get brittle over time from all the heat cycles and degrade. Just did the same on my 4runner.
