Nothing makes non-white people feel more comfortable in Toronto than having the main square named after someone connected to slavery, right? How do you feel about having a park named Hitler Park or a main boulevard named Ghenghis Khan Avenue? How about White Supremacist Beach? I imagine you would like these names but do tell us what other offensive names you want for city properties.

Dundas is not someone we want to honour, but I agree money could have been spent in more needed ways.

The rent pays the banks. Corporate landlords vary however..some break even some profit. Profit is not a bad thing. It allows further investment in housing. Landlords have built far more homes far faster than any government. It's not a conspiracy. It's math. And yes rent increases are regulated.

Even if there was a plan for housing migrants the costs to feed house,educate and provide health care are massive.

Petition to rename Dundas started in 2020 and city council under Tory voted this change through in 2021. I am not sure if the public was aware or if council, at that time shared the amount of money that it would cost, because it is in the millions, and although the intent is great, financially Toronto has a lot of other priorities.
